Hit Rank 3 with The Queen. Now I wait till Iron Banner.

I'll be hitting Rank 2 later today - maybe if I use the Queen class item, I can up the rep to Rank 3 before the end of the event.

With Vroom's help last night, I earned the final component for Thorn (as I said before, soloing that version of the Summoning Pits? F***ing insanity, you need at least two people to get through and help draw agro away from you while you focus killing enemies and dealing with Xyor).

 

Was better than the rest of my night, which was a damn bust:

 

- first was going to go on the Weekly Strikes with a dude but I had to leave for about a half hour, so he said he'd wait. Came back at the time I said I would only to see he was already doing it with 2 other guys 

 

- then I get a quick message from some other PSN acquaintance (some guy that I only did a few missions with) that asks if I want to join a Raid; since I still haven't done it yet, I said yeah and joined the time. Then the leader is asking who I am and that because his friend is coming on and he's bringing a 2nd person, so there's no room on the time for me. My "acquaintance" response? "Well just kick him[me] off then"   I left myself before they booted me, but lucky I didn't have my own mic on, cause there were a few obscenities uttered, lol.

 

I need to find some other people for the Raid, cause so far my prospective picks have been nothing, but f***ing busts.

I've still not hit rank 2. I just couldn't face trying the pvp bounties. Headshots are difficult enough for me in pvp with the autorifle I've been using, let alone trying a scout rifle or hand cannon. I also really don't understand their reasoning for having the bounties which require the class, shader and emblem being there from the beginning of the event. They can't be done until rank 3, and most people are probably either not going to get there before the end of the event or only have a few days to use them.

That still angers me. They should have done it on a first come first serve basis. That was the only way to handle that fairly. Granted, they should have made sure that they would have had empty spots for the raid before offering it to other people...

You can get the Queen class item at Rank 2, not Rank 3. Also if you wear the Queen's class item, all reputation points you earn either in Vanguard or Crucible will be transfered instead to the Queen's rep (like wearing class items for other factions like FWC or Dead Orbit).

EDIT: Scratch what I said, looks like the Queen class item DOES NOT give Queen rep when equipped.... which means my previous source on that info was full of crap.

I wouldn't say this guy is that bright in the first place, from what I've seen - was kind of a moron during the Weekly and Nightfall missions that I tried with him, always rushing headfirst into a swarm of enemies that would explode his a**, lol.

 

No, I haven't done the Weekly yet. I also want to do Nightfall as well, but usually it's easier to do that after the Weekly, cause the Weekly will help you develop strategies for attempting the Nightfall version of the same strike.

Dat Thorn tho.

I was a little underwhelmed when I first used it. Six in the clip and a bit of a long reload time... but after a session with it this morning it's grown on me. It has some of the highest velocity bullets in the game, hits hard, and I'm told by my clan mate that once I get the DOT effect it is absolutely ruthless (and actually shoots out thorns!).

Crucible part wasn't too hard in the end. I used the Invisible Hand M7 for the most part. I made a bunch of mistakes and got some terrible maps (First Light and Firebase Delphi) but managed to get it done in a couple of hours. I would honestly recommend sniping or using the fusion rifle instead for this challenge, but if you're good with a shotgun (clear out an enemy easily in close quarters) then it should be a cinch. General strategy would be to say close to the special ammo boxes, teammates, and listen up for when Lord Shaxx says heavy ammo is respawning, because rockets or machine gun bullets = easy kills. As long as you're able to keep your K/D above 1.0 you should get this easy.

I'm at 2700/3000. Can't seem to wake up at 3am to get those extra bounties. Good thing it lasts until Tuesday.

Doctor Nope gave me a certain appreciation for auto rifles.

I mean, 72 magazine and I can upgrade it to be less of a kicker? That's the kind of auto rifles I like.

Ahh, you're right. I got mixed up with my on-going quest to reach rank 3 and buy Crucible weapons. One day, Shaxx, one day! As for the class item, that's disappointing that it doesn't give rep like the other factions. Have you noticed if it gives the bonus to the bounty rep like the shader and emblem do?

It does. You get INSANE amounts of rep if you have the shader, emblem, and class item equipped.

 

Rank 1 and 2 are a grind, Rank 3 is a piece of cake.

Cool. Should be tomorrow for me, I only need a bit over 200 rep, so as long as there's at least three bounties for pve I'll get it. Then finally I can grab the class item and the hand cannon for my Vault.

Invective shotgun is "A Dubious Task", don't think there's a bounty for an exotic auto-rifle.

 

Went through the 28 lvl Weekly Strike with a guy and his friend, then attempted Nightfall.... it didn't work out too hot, lol. 

The majority of the Strike was just fine (my Arc sniper rifle got a huge boost from the Arc Burn modifier), but the final section with the boss was a sack of utter sh*t   mostly cause of all the minion spawns and those damn psions. Part of me wonders if we run back to the entrance tunnel, whether or not those enemy spawns would disappear after a little while, then you could return and focus on the boss again (like how the hive minions do during the Summoning Pits strike and you use the shrieker strategy).

Just got to rank 2 with the Queen, bought my class item and the hand cannon for a memento.

 

Also, since my glimmer was nearing the max again I used it all up buying green engrams from the Cryptarch, level that a bit. Interesting thing to note, that even with the new patch uncommon engrams you buy from the Cryptarch can still turn into common items.

Since Xur is back, I bought what I needed for the Super Good Advice exotic bounty, now I just gotta earn 500 points with machine gun kills to earn the exotic machine gun.

 

Also bought the Red Death exotic pulse rifle from Xur and so far, I am loving it FAR more than the Bad Juju   Bigger magazine (27 vs Juju's 15), better impact and range, handles more like my Strange Suspect, it has a far better bonus (its Red Death bonus provides increased reload speeds AND restores heath with each kill), and its design really looks like a real bad-a** rifle.

I saw it, but I got disinterested in it when I saw no scope option. I don't like rifles that don't have the mid-range scope option if not better. 

 

On a side note, I hate to implore, but are there any on the ps3 that are willing to assist on LV26 The Summoning Pits for the exotic hand cannon?

Soloed the heroic strike, it was rather easy, also doing the bad juju bounty, time to do 25 strikes.

Got Red Death about 3/4 upgraded today, including its unique exotic bonus "Red Death" - this pulse rifle is AWESOME  Seriously, having a weapon that will restore health with each kill that you make (in addition to speeding up reload speeds, along a bonus to make it easier to aim when under fire and another bonus to make you move faster while aiming) is just godly, it will seriously save your a** at times.

 

Attempted Nightfall again today and managed to beat it with my squad, so all experience gains are increased by 1/4 till Tuesday, along with the almighty blue crown of fire around my head lol (also got the Legendary auto rifle Doctor No for beating it). Also managed to get 2 Legendary engrams from the Cryptarch package today - gave me a Legendary Hunter chest armor and a new Legendary pulse rifle Bad Seed Down (I'll be giving both to my new Hunter once she reaches lvl 20).

 

Still haven't found any group to do the Raid, though.... hope Bungie is seriously when they stated that they may potentially consider a matchmaking option for the Raids in a future update.

Eh, I would rather prefer the exotic shotgun or scout rifle. A weapon with only one red dot setting isn't worth it. Besides, they are dead from my shotgun anyways before they even get a chance to use it.

Well, I play my character like a mid ranged marksmen. I need the scopes in order for me to do that. Before anyone asks, I don't like the Sniper Rifles in this game since they miss the aiming reticle. I also mainly PvP, so shotgun is also needed.

Well I just found something entitled "Quite Content Damsel" during my spirit bloom runs. It was an exchange for a rare ship that is excessively ugly.

 

Meanwhile the cryptarch continues to troll me by sending me legendary primary weapon engrams which end up turning into ascendant energies.
