Are there any newbie-friendly players on XBox 360 here?  I managed to get to level 24 on the strength of my love of Old Russia, and now I'm afraid to do any strikes for fear that people will expect me to actually know what I'm doing.

There isn't much to worry about. Aside from the Vault of Glass which I heard is kinda difficult, everything else is easy. Kill adds, Attack bosses weak points, rinse and repeat.

You haven't seen me play    I tend to descend into panicked flailing when I get surrounded, which tends not to go so well.

That is why you always relocate after a certain time. Being mobile is more useful then being stationery.

Completed a tier 3 (level 24?) vanguard raid almost single handedly against the Venus archon priest as a level 21 warlock, after my random left after five minutes. What annoyed me though is that two other players jumped in right as I was finishing the last boss, so they got the same vanguard rewards. Flawed system that. Anyone on PS4 who's interested hit me up BenJM_94 on PSN.

That's what I'm waiting for...won't bother withe queens thing til it comes back around. On a side note Xur leaves the tower too soon. I wanted to get red death last night as well as get set for the next part of Toland's legacy. Oh well will wait for him to show next weekend.

Hit Rank 3 this morning, thankfully the event didn't end today like I thought it would, which is good cause I was only 93 points away from rank 3 and if I didn't get to finish it, I'd have been pissed, lol.

 

And.... kinda underwhelmed, actually - I thought perhaps there'd be some kind of faction reward like hitting Rank 3 of Vanguard, Crucible, or guild rep, but nope, nothing  Still bought the Prism Dancer shader and Crown emblem, just to say I did it.

Xur only stays around only Friday and Saturday, he always leaves on Sunday (so technically he's not around for the entire weekend). Hope next weekend he has the Voidfang Vestments for Warlocks (or at the very least an exotic chest armor engram), cause my Warlock could use some better clothes by now lol.

I got really lucky with my Warlock's Voidfang Vestments; I got them off of a blue engram back when the Cryptarch was an even bigger troll than he is now. I have to admit that I like how I am the only Warlock (that I have seen) running with this armor; makes me feel unique; especially since everyone and their mother has the Sunbreaker gloves . 

 

I love the 'spawn with full grenade energy' bonus that this armor provides. Coupled with 'Gift of the Sun' for the Sunsinger and you become one mean, grenade throwing machine on the Crucible.

lol, I switched out my Sunbreakers with the Gloves of the Hezen Lords that I got from my 3/4 Raid (was the only armor got out of doing that, probably won't get a chance to gain the rest of the armor till the weekly reset and I have to try the Raid again), which has all the same stats and bonuses of the Sunbreakers minus the Solar Grenade bonus (and since I use the Fusion Grenade instead, that's kind of a wasted bonus for my current build).

Only way I've gotten Crucible Marks is by farming Relic Iron and Helium Filaments and turning it in.

Dude, if you're going to farm materials for that, Spinmetal is far better for that lol - just run around farming in the area where the Fallen Walker public event spawns, you'll be raking in Spinmetal to pawn off in no time.

 

EDIT: Earned 2 new versions of the Supremacy sniper rifle from my last run of QW missions tonight - one is Arc and the other is Void, both of which have better stability, longer-range scopes, and higher ammo upgrades than my original one (the Arc one even has a bonus that makes enemies explode on precision kills, lol).

Well the Iron Banner is a bit underwhelming. 

 

Most people seem to be running around with Suros Regime which basically causes everyone to die if the user just looks at them.

 

At least you don't need many points to rank up. Rank 2 only requires 1.2k which is easily attainable (no idea what rank 1 was, but I got it quickly).

Honest Trailers is great, love watching them. I'd say they pretty much nailed it with Destiny.

 

I've not done the Iron Banner yet, but I'm going to. Only 100 rep to reach rank 1. I think I can manage that. Although strangely enough I actually need to farm for some glimmer to afford the shader and emblem. Is it like the Crucible in that you still get some rep even if your team loses?
