Got the Hard Light last week from a legendary engram.
So far its my favorite auto rifle.
P.S what platform are you on?
I got mine in a way I never thought possible.
From a Tiger Strike reward.

So glad that Bungie has improved the engram system, but loot still needs some fixing. If you ever need an extra fro the raid feel free add me to your fire team GT is the same as my BSN user name.
*yells into the distance*I'm sorry!
Hey, at least they took you along... ![]()
Yo, **** Iron Banner.
No lie, this Iron Banner event is such a colossal joke it's beyond belief... why couldn't Bungie have been fricken' honest with how this event was suppose to function, how all the rewards they promised were suppose to be gained? The only new IB gear I've ever gotten from the matches is the Timur's Lash (which is a decent hand cannon, but not on the level of my Thorn), which I've gotten 4 times already - I've seen NO other gear or weapons from the IB matches, and it's pointless for me to receive more Timur's Lashes cause they don't even given ascendant energy/shards when you break them down.
Now granted, I do really like the Goldspiral shader (and it looks great on my Voidfang Vestments), BUT having a single shader and/or emblem be the ONLY reward that you can normally obtain (ie, buy from the vendor) for reaching Rank 3 is utterly ridiculous, especially for an event as broken and frustrating as the Iron Banner.
After this mess and the underwhelming Queen's Wrath, I'm seriously done with any "event" that Bungie comes up with (including that rumored Silver Banner, which would use the same rules as IB, but just switch the event to Clash instead of Control). Just give me the Expansions along with the Weekly Challenge, the Nightfall Challenge, and the Raid/s - those are the only things I'll be playing Destiny for from now on.
Of course, Destiny will be taking a hike in November once DAI and GTA5 for PS4 arrive, lol. ![]()
I still don't understand their decision to only give crucible rep if you lose the match. Especially since so many people seem to give up if their team is losing, thus ensuring they lose. Last night I had a match where a couple of guys left the match from my team 30 seconds in and we were bloody winning! Ok, maybe they had a connection problem, but the way people seem to quit in Iron Banner I'm not sure.
I remember back in the Beta, if you quit too many matches in the Crucible or IB (even if it was an accident or if you got booted due to a server screw-up), you would get a warning from the game about quitting too many times. I don't know why this warning didn't make it into the final game, but there seriously needs to be some sort of disadvantage for all these people quitting too many matches just because they suck and their team is losing. ![]()
Yeah, there needs to be something to stop ragequitters, especially since events like this are so dependent on other people. Something like a cooldown, maybe. Quit x number of matches (obviously there should be some way to differentiating people with connection issues) and you have to wait a length of time before you can enter another. They're wasting other people's time so Bungie should waste their time.
I agree the events have been poor. I've only ever played a few MMOs in my time, and most were free to play ones, but I remember events in them quite often being great things where you ended up with tons of rewards and stuff that would have required a great deal of grinding and luck during normal gameplay. The lack of mats from the rewards is just ridiculous.
It seems like Bungie have just failed to look at the longterm for this game despite wanting people to play it for years. You just have to look at the inventory for that. I'm a packrat, I don't like to just ditch things if I might have a use for them down the road or just for mementos. My vault is close to being full. I reckon that if they had three more events (with their own set of class item, shader, emblem and some gear exclusive to the event) and it'll be full. The inventory system is nicely set out, it's easy to look at, but it doesn't hold up if people are going to need to ditch things they'd rather keep. You can only have 200 of a basic mat (spinmetal, etc) in a stack and then it'll start a new one, and with about 10 different mat type things and only 15 inventory spaces, you need to constantly ditch stuff.
Sure you can chuck mats into rep at the vanguard and crucible weapon vendors, but it still seems short-sighted on Bungie's part. I really wonder how long they expect people to play for, and how much they want people to grind and collect. They talk about people having epic stories about how they got gear, but they don't seem to want people to keep or care about anything other than the best gear their character is currently using.
And now I'm going to stop complaining and go play something for fun.

Hahaha, Grav exited the party, I invited Dermain, we chatted, I left for a little bit and noticed Dermain was out, and then Grav came RIGHT back.
I lol'd a little.
Yo, **** Iron Banner.
You can get Legendaries for 10 Marks, where elsewhere they cost 65 to 150.
If you grind the hell out of them for reputation. Also, you can buy shaders that do not look as wacky as the ones you can buy elsewhere. Why do they only sell purple ones? ![]()
Speaking of Legendaries, I have 4 Legendaries.
The first was a helmet I bought from FWC. Didn't feel like grinding up to level 3.
The second were gauntlets for a class that I have no character for.
The third was a second helmet.
I'm not sure what to do with it. I consider it inferior to the one I have, but I'm not sure if it's class specific or not.. so its banked.
The fourth was an auto rifle which so far has been pretty sweet. It's abilities are kinda bonk though. First Legendary weapon, so its a keeper.

Correction - you can only buy ONE legendary armor piece and ONE legendary weapon from the Iron Banner vendor for 10 marks each (it apparently varies from person to person, for me he's only selling a pair of gloves/arm armor and a rocket launcher respectively).
All of the remaining Iron Banner legendary gear and weapons we were promised as being available for Rank 3 are not available from the vendor and instead can only be found by random f***ing luck at the end of an Iron Banner match.... which is what has myself and many other players pissed the hell off about. ![]()

On a side note, it looks like I'll need some helping getting the exotic fusion rifle/shotgun/hand cannon bounties finished.
You can't always get what you want.
This isn't about not getting what you want - it's about getting what you were TOLD you were going to get, only to find out later that those promises were all a lie.

Fifth chest is real. Did it with five people just now; two snipers at respawn, two on the teleport beams, and relic holder sweeps the back and helps person on right side. Chest contained ascendant materials only.
Fully upgraded by raid gear chest piece and completed the exotic bounty for the Invective shotgun.

Cool looking, but holy crap the recoil is REAL if used in full auto. That and damn the reloading is slow.
I think I'll have it just to have it rather than use it. I'll get more out of my Suros Regime and Ice Breaker. Invective and Super Good Advice are gonna stay in inventory. ![]()
Well..... I did it.... I f***ing did it..... after a lot of time, sweat, tears and toil, and an obscene amount of profanities thrown at my TV screen..... I reached Rank 3 of the Iron Banner.
And like reaching Rank 3 of the Queen's Wrath event.... it's pretty damn underwhelming, honestly. Actually, even moreso than QW, cause at least the Queen's vendor stock increased to include all the weapons. I thought there was suppose to be a ton of new Legendary armor and weapons to choose from, but the IB vendor still has that same damn set of gloves and rocket launcher that he always has had
Where's all the new stuff that was listed on this page? Are these items suppose to be locked out till the last day of the event?
Don't tell me all the new gear and weapons need to be earned as random reward drops from the f***ing Iron Banner matches?!?
In either case, I consider myself freaking DONE with the Iron Banner event. To both the Iron Banner and Bungie, I say with the utmost sincerity:
"Screw you for making one of the most absurdly frustrating, mind-numbingly ridiculous, pain in the f***ing ass gameplay modes I've ever played in an online multiplayer game."
Well, at least the Goldspiral shader looks pretty boss.
EDIT: Oh f*** me, all those new Legendary gear DO HAVE TO BE EARNED AS DROPS FROM THE IB MATCHES! http://www.gamezone....e-info-revealed
F*** you, Bungie, just f*** you.
They really need to mix things up a bit by adding (new or old) enemies to existing areas and giving us some sort of story reason for why they are there and why we are fighting them. Maybe have them drops event specific items which can be turned into an event specific vendor as currency to obtain Legendaries and Exotics? It wouldn't be that hard of them to do, they could dump a bunch of Vex over in that level 20 area in Old Russia and say that they are searching for some sort of technology (they wouldn't even really have to specify what because anything that the Vex what is going to be bad news). I remember the first SWTOR event from way back when, they dumped a bunch of Rakghouls on Tatooine and it was a very successful event. Basically what I am suggesting is that Bungie should replicate that, but with their characters and planets.
The Queen's Wrath and Iron Banner are both lazily done in my opinion, both are just slogging through the exact same areas that we've been doing since launch with are enemies powered up (can vary in the case of the Iron Banner). I also think that it would be more meaningful if we could either choose or buy our rewards, because let's face it, 9 Queen's Guard helmets, 9 Queen's Guard Platebodies and 2 The Supremacy sniper rifles just don't do much for me (especially when I was hoping for the ship, I'd seriously trade all of that for the ship) considering that they were significantly weaker than what I had equipped. Just a thought.
Well I gave up on the Thorn bounty...whoever came up with the idea of requiring void damage to get 500 points needs to be shot. It's almost as bad as the original Dark Souls 2 covenant ranking up (where every time you failed you lost a point).
I'm still at a loss for the 200 kills in a Nightfall strike with a fusion rifle, but I did manage to solo a weekly strike for Invective. Ice breaker is just too overpowered with the regenerating ammo.

If you still have it in your inventory, I recommend doing Clash (or whatever the free for all is called, might be thinking of Rumble) with a Void Shotgun, you don't run as much risk of being gang banged as you do in Control and you'll almost always come out a few points ahead. I had to do this because I was barely breaking even on Control.

It's a major pity that players can't trade between each other, cause now that I have my "Aspect of Glass" ship from the Raid I'd easily trade you the QW's "Chasing Infinity" ship lol. ![]()

Yeah, I found Clash or Skirmish to be the best modes for that part of the bounty.
Could anyone here go raiding with me? I just hit level 25.

You might want to hit 27 before you hit it up. Up to you.

Aye, a 25 shouldn't be doing the raid. Level 27 or higher, preferably 28 or above.
