3 Nightfalls. 3 Raids, 1 on Hard. Nothing... apart from 30-some Ascendant Shards.

 

I realize that the RNG doesn't take your gameplay into account when handing out rewards, and I agree with you that this game's loot system can be absolute **** at times.

 

I myself have cleared the Normal Raid 5+ times and Hard mode twice and don't have alot to show for it. (Still missing two pieces of the raid set, Atheon's Epilogue, Vex Mythoclass, My Class Item, and Timebreaker.) Last sunday I solo Cheesed Atheon on Heroic and got Ascendant Shards and a Ship that I already owned. Later that same day I cheesed it for a buddy of mine and he got Timebreaker, his Class Helmet, AND the Vex Mythoclass.

 

Still It's pretty damn funny that in the photo you posted, you had 1 kill... It makes it seem like the game actually does take your contribution into account (like it should) when it doesn't.

almost a month of raiding and all i have is chatterwhite and light of the great prism

and after completing another raid on hard today i got ascendent shards 

 

I'm over the raid 

my hex caster ARC and my epitaph and the culling are all maxed and thats all i need, those three weapons aint let me down yet, nightfall solos heroic weekly solos vault of glass level 26 vault of glass level 30

 

screw the raid dragon age inquisition coming out soon anyway

I was actually the one doing the most DPS on Knights, Wizards, and Phogoth in that Nightfall run with my 30W and Fatebringer, Light/Beware, Steel Oracle (all Arc); brought my Hunter in for the rewards.

But yeah, RNG. I do agree, the better you do, the better chance you should have of getting better rewards.

 

True story: clan mate of mine is obsessed with getting the Mythoclast, and on two occasions in need of a 6th, he invited a non-clan member to assist us on hard. Guess what happened both times? (he was also obsessed with getting to LVL30, being the first to reach 29 in our clan, but thankfully he got what he needed last night, though he was approaching the point where he would've been the last to hit 30).

Wow. "The Swarm" is some BS. Just saw a guy go on a fifteen kill streak with it. It drops people in two or three shots at any range. Very poor pvp balance.

I still can't believe that Bungie has made the PvP to Destiny so utterly unbalanced. These are the people that developed Halo; people that pioneered modern FPS matchmaking and pro-level gaming. How the heck did they f-up Destiny so bad?

 

I can understand Bungie not wanting to create a Halo clone with Destiny, but holy crap is their PvP atrocious. You would think that ten years of development time and playtesting would have at least clued them onto the broken nature of the Crucible. I would prefer a Halo clone to whatever they want to call this dribble; at least Halo PvP is balanced and fun.

The Bungie that made Halo is nonexistent now. They are either with 343, the current Bungie, or have left for other endeavors. You won't find that magic again. Kind of like the old Bioware.

I think the balancing issues with PvP can basically be attributed to the sheer number of weapons available, compared to Halo's relatively small amount of weapon choices.

 

They aren't just balancing the Assault Rifle, they are balancing Doctor Nope, Hard Light, Vex Mythoclast, and a dozen other Auto Rifles.

 

And that's just Auto Rifles.

I can't even get mad at the players who use weapons like that. They obviously earned them. It just makes it hard for casuals like me who just want to play the crucible every now and then. Maybe it would be better if people got placed in lobbies based on their gear or something. I don't really see myself getting the top notch gear because I don't see myself playing this game too much. I guess I'm not the type of player this game was made for. May be time to move on to another pvp and just stick to playing pve with my friends every now and then.

They should've also provided the means to look for groups to do nightfall and raids in game rather than resorting to thirds parties to do so.

Well, I've got my Titan to level 25 now, two legendaries and an exotic, short one legendary armour piece. It's back to the grind for rep and marks, so I think I'm done for a while. I'll probably be back around in December to see reviews of the first expansion. Have fun everyone, whether it's in Destiny or moving on to something else.

 

I was going to play Crusader Kings II, but it seems the most recent DLC and patch has ruined all my saves and I just can't muster the strength to start again (maybe when they finally stop patching things), so I'm going to finish off GTA V and then try and get back into L.A. Noire (the interviews bug me.)

Now see, this was my experience in Iron Banner, or what little of it I took part in. Pretty much almost the same a regular PvP (which is bad) but a little better because of all the Legendary gear I was using.
