The DLC looks interesting but the fact that Xbox players are paying the exact same amount as PS players and getting less is just anti-consumer not to mention having to wait a full year to get all the content. Thing is Destiny is a fun game and I enjoy playing it but poor practices stop it from being a great game.
I agree. Exclusives on their own, I don't necessarily mind, but I absolutely mind that it costs the same price for limited content.

It's not that you should always take faith but when you enjoy a game so much you just want to.

I am amused by people saying "It's a good thing that PS is getting something first instead of those silly Xbone people". Yes, Xbox does get more exclusive content, but the vast majority of them are only exclusive for about a month.
Unless of course we're talking about a Bethesda game, then PS users are just **** out of luck.
Having to wait an entire year to get content is stretching it a bit.
Again, unless we're talking about a Bethesda game...then PS users have already been there.
I think that was to do with the coding, but PS players got all the DLC at half price to make up for the long wait. But this paying the same amount but getting less and waiting a year for it there is no excuse for it.

I'll do my best to summarize.
There hasn't been a real "successful" mass "we won't buy X thing because Y reason" as far as I can tell. Using the example of EA, with so many people claim that they will never buy another EA product you would expect that EA's profits would start to shift, however (from my armchair analysis) this doesn't really seem to be the case. Sure. EA was voted "Worst company in America" or some such (last year?), but even that hasn't really seemed to change much. Wal-mart and Chic-fil-a also come to mind for recent wallet protests. Those also weren't successful.
I hope that's summary enough.

I know it was the coding, but that didn't do much to appease Playstation users. It's also why I'm hesitant on buying a third party game on Playstation regardless of the bonuses.
In fact the only bonuses that I recall never switching over would be being able to play as Joker in Batman: Arkham Asylum's challenge mode. Which given the extent of the challenge missions is something that's forgettable.

A successful case would be DA2 DLCs. They were gonna make a DA2 expansion called The Exalted March but because of DLC player numbers being lower than expected in combination with DA2's bad press, they moved all the expansion stuff they could towards a new project- Inquisition.
Sometimes it doesn't even have to be organized. You just have to have the self-control to purchase things you support and avoid purchasing things you don't. Back in the 07-09 days if you'd of told me I wouldn't purchase every DLC for a Bioware game I would've called you out on it, but DA2 was so bad I didn't bother, and that had an effect down the line.
Same can happen with Destiny. if the player base wants something, they just need to voice what it is and use their wallet to prove they mean it. I wanted story content(Destiny originally caught my attention because I assumed it would have a rich story given the cutscene snippets in trailers), and I didn't get it.
The DLC doesn't have enough story content to live up to what I want, so I'll likely pass on it. I've got new games I'm putting my money towards.
So its not so much that the "use your wallet" strategy hasn't worked before, as it certainly has;its just that its effects are sometimes subtle.

I don't know about it working properly or not, but its personally quite satisfying.
'Don't know how to convert currency? Yeah, I'm the same. Money won't convert from my wallet into yours!'
Zing!

I like you. You have too much hope in the world.
Ok, that's my cynical post of the day.
Carry on everyone.

I admit the helmet the hunter wears for the dark below just looks badass as ****. The glowing eyes are cool.
I might buy the DLC, maybe. Or with that 30 bucks I'll buy Zone of the Enders HD collection.

Doesn't do anything to make me feel better. Right now I'm not playing anything, just waiting for the RWBY finale to be available in half an hour while I download the Evolve Alpha I got via free code from MS.

I don't know if it interests you or not, but San Andreas is $4 on the Xbox 360 for a limited time. Rockstar remade it in HD and added achievements to it. Might help you kill some time if you have an Xbox 360.

So just completed the entire raid on hard and it only took two hours with a full team of 6 30's. Nothing was that difficult even the random spawning on atheon wasn't that bad since it only takes three teleports to kill him.
That's lovely.
Finished it tonight with four 30s and two 29s, after failing it the two nights prior with three 30s and three 29s. No cheesing, even though we tried it for 20 minutes for the sheer curiousity of can it be done. Roughly four loops and it was done. Only one of our guys was firing his Gjallarhorn, which attributed most of the damage done. I got in around 120,000-140,000 damage with my Icebreaker alone, and the final push with Corrective Measure.
Tips for Atheon on Hard now: be LVL30. Have maxed out Icebreakers. Have maxed out Gjallarhorns. And for the love of god, everyone know the order of the oracles in the portals...

Yeah the random spawning is not as bad as everyone expected it to be people just have to remember oracle spawns, that was the biggest problem we had. Most of the time I got teleported and was able to pick up the relic and we went from there. I really didn't do much damage to atheon because of that.

So after a dozen tries my group was finally getting the hang of fighting hard Atheon, even with all the random bug-f***-nuts glitches popping every everywhere (seriously, what's with all the damn bugs and glitches to Atheon since the patch?
), and we finally had him at just a tiny sliver of health left when..... the PSN network goes down......

Yeah, and that was the thing for us: those three 29s had only completed the Raid on Hard once before Tuesday. And Atheon thought it was freaking hilarious to teleport them over the 30s half of the time, which ofcourse, was enough to call it a wipe each time it happened. Tonight we had four capable Relic holders, which made a massive difference, IMO. We would've finished it sooner were it not for one of our guys not knowing the order of the oracles (like, are you ****** kidding me) AND constantly barreling into the Relic holder when it was time for most of us to meet on the middle platform. I actually lost my **** for real for the first time with another group last week, when during the Gatekeeper phase two guys complained about the Goblins killing them... not HOBGOBLINS, but, like, regular Goblins. Really? LIKE REALLY? ****** Goblins, guys? ****** GOBLINS, GUYS... I couldn't believe it, I had to drag them through the entire ****** thing in the end; kill the first gatekeeper, stand on the first sync plate, enter the first portal, kill the second gatekeeper, run to the second sync plate, enter the second portal, cleanse them, super the third gatekeeper, drop the relic, shoot the third gatekeeper, make sure someone... ANYONE picked up the second relic, kill everything in the second portal so that nothing could kill the second relic holder, run through the portal and to the middle to defend the conflux, praying... just praying that the Vex hadn't sacrificed a fourth.
/rant
And yet I cannot keep myself from playing this game.

The one week where I've not been playing and thus not got back any strange coins from my previous spending. *shakes fist at Xur* But at least I got the Alpha Lupi chest for my Hunter the other week (I think it was that one, with the wolf embossed on the chest.)
Just think, one day, several expansions down the road, we might be able to wear all exotic gear. How cool would that be? And time consuming to upgrade, but anyway.
I actually logged in and played a bit this morning (insomnia kept me up). It's ok, I can quit at any time, promise...

So Destiny has suddenly decided to be a little nicer to me starting with last week: earned a Vision of Confluence scout rifle and Atheon's Epilogue auto rifle on my main Warlock, then created a second warlock and got him to lvl 20 so I could swap my gear between characters and have him be 30 for the raid as well. Got through the raid on him and..... finally got the Vex Mythoclast, the one gun I've wanted out of this game for ages
Also got a Plan C exotic fusion rifle and a second Gjallarhorn from a from the raid chests.
Started the raid again last night and got the Praedyth's Timepiece pulse rifle (didn't even know there was a raid pulse rifle) along with a second Vision of Confluence and Aethon's Epilogue on the Atheon drop. Got back to the tower and found something in my mailbox at the postmaster - a second Vex Mythoclast
apparently my inventory was full, so it got sent to my postmaster instead of being awarded at the end, lol. Start the raid again on my second Warlock from Oracles to the jumping puzzle (unfortunately my internet was dropping for some reason, so we'll finish gatekeeper and Atheon today) and found the warlock raid chestpiece, which is the first time I've gotten it (not that I really need it cause the exotic chestpieces for warlock are awesome, but maybe I'll level it up and have it on my second warlock). Then in the 3rd chest I found.... the Hawkmoon exotic hand cannon
only downside to that one is my buddy is going to utterly lose his sh*t, cause that was the one and only gun he wanted out of this damn game (and the raid keeps screwing him - he can't get a single set of raid boots, which he needs to reach lvl 30, whereas I have 3 extra pairs of boots lol).
On the flip side, the Nightfall has given me nothing but freaking Strange Coins this week, lol.
