Halo MCC anyone? I've heard it was fixed somewhat.

See, thats what we did back late last year. After a while I started to ask myself if I was having any fun repeatedly doing the raid every week and when I realized I wasn't having fun anymore I *expletive*'d off and I *expletive*'d off for good.
Well, at least you were able to do the raid... ![]()

The Vault of Glass was fun as hell the first few times since it required teamwork and focus to get completed. The PVP was just run of the mill to me.
But I can't say I didn't play it.

That's the issue. I hate it when games make it to where one person messes up; the entire team is dead. I find that design to be stupid, so I would rather do PvP and strikes where individuality is more important.

I liked it. Forced us to work together instead of stupidly running off on our own. We had to play it like chess, certain pieces(players) being set at certain places(parts of the map), constantly coordinating and working together.
Plus my friends and I would have a laugh if someone screwed something up at certain parts, like missing the huge jumps or spooking an enemy during the stealth sections of the Vault of Glass.
Lots of "GODDAMN IT *person*!"
"IT WASN'T ME!"
"IT WAS SO YOU! LOUD ASS *EXPLETIVE*!"
hahaha

We just have a different opinion on fun. I hate to be forced to do anything.

But games force you to do stuff all the time, what makes the Destiny raids different?

Because of the pressure on you to conform to the groups will considering the difficulty of the raid. Strikes and PvP I can do my own thing while I am working with people. Raids make you do it a certain way.

Ahh, alright then. I was used to the teamwork aspect as I played God knows how many games of Search and Destroy in CoD games in MW2. I'm down for that kind of teamwork rather than going solo.

I always went free for all, and team deathmatch being my only team one.

That's all my buddies and I played during our CoD craze. Hardcore Search and Destroy. So much fun!

We didn't play Hardcore Search, just normal Search. But it was the greatest fun. And I remember all of my 1v6 clutches. Just wish I had them recorded.

There were two groups that each wanted different things-
Group A=A lore and story heavy shooter/RPG hybrid kinda like Mass Effect, only its Destiny
Group B=Story is too niche for the mass audience we want, it should be kept simple and be more shooter
The guy who had a handle on controlling how things were gonna go was in Group A but he was let go, then after he was gone they shifted from the story direction to the straight up shooter direction. Thats why adverts showed cutscenes and potential storytelling but the game had none of it.
So sad that Group A didn't win out.
I was one of those people that tracked Destiny all through it's development - I was absolutely riveted at the concepts Bungie was proposing, and was bouncing in my seat like a kid at Christmas on the day it launched, only to step back after a few hours and say "WTF.......is this it?". An engaging story is by far the most important thing I look for in games, so you can imagine my overall thoughts on Destiny. And again, like many, I still spent many, many hours playing this game in the fall/winter. Such a great, polished, fun shooter that is completely sabotaged by the expectations I had of this grand, cinematic, far-reaching story taking place in a deep, engaging, mysterious universe just begging to be explored (and I argue this part is actually true - I would kill for more in-game content exploring the lore) - expectations entirely created by Bungie.
Saw this concept art on Kotaku, and a little part of me wept at what could have been. http://kotaku.com/th...ated-1635150686
And of course I'll be buying HoW. I'm a glutton for punishment.

My slight interest in Destiny was for the story and such. It still wasn't enough for me to buy it on my own, but a friend knew I enjoyed what I played of the beta with him so he got me a copy himself as a gift.
And...yeah. Wow. The beta WAS the whole game. Eww.
So no more of that.

That was the "feel it in the pit of your stomach" moment for me - when I got through the intro mission, and I realized Bungie hadn't changed a thing from the beta; that my hope that they had just cut a bunch of the story elements out of the beta, leaving only basic gameplay, was dead wrong.
There is still so much potential in this fictional universe they have created, but if House of Wolves is more of the same (iow, little to no story beyond some Dinkle-spark monologues during load screens), then the last little bit of faith I still have that Bungie can right the ship will go out the window.
