I've been grinding my way through Iron Banner this week. Currently about half way to rank 4. Should be able to get there before long and pick up the class item and the helmet. I don't think I'll make it all the way to rank 5 with only tomorrow and Monday, but with the buff and the class item maybe I will.
It's certainly better with the medallions but there are still times where you see people quitting because their team isn't winning immediately. Ironically having seen that from some people on my team we've then gone on to win the match because we got replacements that stuck around and were clearly better players. Thorn and the Last Word abound though, as well as Suros Regime.
When does HoW come out?
May the 19th.
Honestly, they chose poorly for that.

Ok. I'll start playing it again weekly on May 19th.

They probably figured that
A. Destiny's fanbase won't go over to The Witcher 3 with the DLC release
B. That shooter and RPG fans don't mix
Safe to say that The Witcher 3 is gonna kill in that period
Destiny was so successful because it really had no competitors. With Witcher, Bungie needs something to keep the population from getting sapped.
I never played the Witcher series nor do I have an interest in it. I think the fact I can't pick my own weapons out makes me disinterested.

I played Witcher 2 for an hour and lost interest.

If you're ever thinking about pulling away from your usual game-groups to try to enter Destiny MM Solo. Word of advice.
Don't.
No amount of carry and skill could pull my teammates to a win like the game I just had.
GT is Oh Grey Warden.
How we lost that I will never know. It's enough to make me want to pull out a bottle of Jack Daniels
I wonder how my team loses, then i figure out it's the randoms who take A on Shores of time and Blind watch, and who wonder around in bliss.
And a kid got plan c when he had only one kill. I hate him.
What a week. Lots of frustration was had since I'm both bad in pvp and get easily annoyed while playing it. All three characters grinded to lvl 4 in Iron Banana to get those helmets. Last night had to farm some glimmer in exclusion zone with a friend to get enough glimmer for the Titan helmet. Damn those helmets look sweet.
The medals for losing is nice but I still quit about 1/3 of my games (the reason I prefer playing alone).
Finally got my warlock up to 26. Now I just need to do a raid with her.
I'm getting there.

Oh, god, I hate the random loot drops in pvp. Or they hate me (or both).
One of my Iron Banner matches I was third on my team. Most of us got blue trash, which is odd because usually I get nothing. The guy in second got nothing. The guy in dead last, who spent most of the match getting kills but completely ignoring captures (seriously, 11 kills, 0 captures), and also spent several minutes afk, got a legendary heavy weapon engram and Suros Regime.
But at the end of the day I've now got the class item for my warlock and the chest armour and helmet. Also bought For the People since I was close to reaching the cap for crucible marks. Working out better for me than Badger CCL. The auto rifles aren't as dominant in pvp anymore but the rate of fire and number of shots means you've still got a better chance against people with better gear in Iron Banner than with a scout rifle.

BTW have any of you seen what the Cabal look like underneath their helmets? 600+ hours logged before I made my return last Sunday, and only the other day did I see one for the first time,
Spoiler
Looks like the head of a broodmother from "Dragon Age: Origins" to me.
Grinded myself for a bit last week during IB to get the Titan helmet (which looks boss) and the sniper rifle, which were the only things I wanted out of IB (already have the Crota's End raid helmets for both my Warlock and Hunter, so I really didn't want those IB helmets).
Honestly I'm rather excited for HoW to drop, even though Witcher 3 also drops on the same day (maybe because I haven't paid any attention to any of the Witcher trailers/announcements/etc, so the hype for it hasn't gotten to me)

Still no news about the PC port?
No, there isn't any news about a PC port.

They actually said that there will be a PC port, Just not soon.

Interesting, I recall them saying it wasn't going to happen. But again, my info may be wrong.
Probably posted before but this is hilarious. I miss loot cave ![]()

Hadn't seen that - pretty dang funny. The Honest Game Trailer for Destiny is hilarious as well.
I am pumped for HoW, mainly due to the new gear upgrade system. Due to family commitments (little ones in the house) my playtime is typically limited to an hour or two at a time, whenever I am lucky enough to get some free time. That, combined with the fact that none of my friends actually play Destiny, means I will probably never get to raid without matchmaking, so thanks to the new gear upgrade paths I will finally be able tackle most of the endgame content without being under-leveled.
Plus, I loved the co-op horde mode in Halo:Reach, so if the the Prison of Elders is anywhere near as fun as that, it will keep me interested for a long time.

You could always solo Crota's End.
And it'll be easier at LL34.
so if the the Prison of Elders is anywhere near as fun as that, it will keep me interested for a long time.
Since you mentioned matchmaking.
"They’ll be playing a brand new co-op Arena activity set in the Prison of Elders , where teams of three players can take on waves of increasingly difficult enemies to earn high-level legendary and exotic rewards. You can match-make with other players anytime, or form your own Fireteam to take on higher difficulty challenges with even greater rewards."
Reveal in under 4 hours at 11am PDT/2pm EDT.
Haha yeah....
Maybe for the solo run on Crota's End.....one day. And I figured Prison of Elders would have matchmaking - I was more referring to no matchmaking for raids.
