I'll be the first to say Destiny is a pretty deeply flawed game, but I don't really see what you are getting at here.

So the PoE Stream is going on right now.

 

Didn't realize it, but man, Broman is really annoying lol. 

 

Also Deej looks super frustrated/annoyed. I'm guessing he's there to moderate things and keep them on the low side, but looks like nobodies going to reign in Broman. So I wouldn't be surprised if they don't do this type of thing for a while. Which makes sense, because apparently the next thing to hit is in September time.

 

But regarding the actual PoE thing. Looks pretty sweet, love horde based modes, Mass Effect 3 and Gears of War 3 have their both respective crowns in that area, and as I'm loving my time with Destiny and its annoying rng of both items and intelligent team mates, it looks like a win for me.

The lack of any real story or motivation to keep playing beyond the random loot drops. If you're in it just for the loot you could be playing games that do it a whole lot better. I just don't see the point or why this game has such staying power with some people.

Ha, I actually feel bad for the amount of hate he's getting right now. Pretty sure he started streaming last year, and only really got popular after teaming up with Gothalion in Destiny. Not a great player, but his quirkiness and general enthusiasm is usually endearing during their streams. Looked severely nervous today in the spotlight... with Deej on his fireteam, no doubt.

 

How the stream played out was disappointing, for me, but the content revealed during and afterwards hit the spot.

My only disappointment is that you won't be able to matchmake for Prison of Elders outside of the LL28 arena.

Like anything you do in any game matters    It's video game, made to entertain. If it doesn't entertain you then feel free to move along.

 

I simply enjoy the gunfight mechanics in the game. There's no story and I'm totally fine with it. I have fun while I play with friends: raids, strikes, random sh1t etc. And thats all that really matters.

 

Oh and those new gears and weapons look pretty sweet. That secondary hand cannon   Prison of elders stream was a bit of a bummer. Those guys sucked and Broman was kind of annoying. I left to gym when they got stuck on stage/wave 4. I liked what I saw so far but still need to take a look at the end of the stream to see how it plays.

Oh believe me, I respect that Broman can have such an enthusiasm. 

 

I've just always been put off with someone showing that sort of hyper level lol, I meant no disrespect to him as a person. If thats what his viewers love and he loves doing, by all means go ahead.

 

Also I wonder if The Taken King will deal with Crota's father, Oryx. At least I'm pretty sure his father is Oryx. Even if its a generic "You killed my Son, now I'll kill you" plotline, with Bungie's Art Team, it'll be grande.

That was kind of the point I was getting at - it's a video-game....basically all video games (or entertainment, for that matter) can be called pointless.

 

Destiny's lack of a coherent story disappointed me way more than most, but it is still a surprisingly fun game to actually just play.

Etheric Light has a chance to drop from the 32 arena Prison of Elders playlist. Guaranteed to drop in the 34 and 35 variants.

 

There will what's seeming to be a good chance that the glimmer cap will be raised on the May 19th update. Fingers crossed for at least 50k.

I can't wait to buy Destiny 2. That will be the game that has all of the weapon types and more than a few raids. This game literally is being sold piece by piece. Is that normal with MMORPGs? If so, then it feels like whoever is making the decisions finally made the connection between the people who play on consoles for the social aspects and people's willingness to buy things to keep up with everyone else. There was a time where the marketing strategies for these two were very distinct, but marketers have slowly and subtly closed the gap. I remember there was a time when people thought map DLCs for Call of Duty were outrageous. Now you can sell pretty much any component of your game, and people will happily buy it.

 

I used to be angry about it, and that's why I lashed out at this game a lot. Now, I realize that this game just wasn't my type of game. It's what I call pay to progress. Sure, you could be just as good as anyone else at the game if you never pay for anything, but they are going to have much more fun with the game doing stuff that you aren't doing. I'm cheap, so I'd rather not do that, lol. The way they are doing it makes perfect sense, though. They are giving people the things that they want. They are evolving this game and giving it constant support. They are doing what great developers do. It's just that developers understand they can do this at a premium instead of for free now.

 

The business done changed! Complete editions are the ones to buy if you want the complete edition. Makes sense.

Second - where did you read about Etheric Light rates in specific activites?  The only thing I have seen has been general statements that we can get EL from Iron Banner, PoE, Trials of Osiris, and the NIghtfall Strike.  If EL only starts to drop at the lvl 32 playlist of PoE, I will be pretty ticked, as that means for PvE activities, EL will only be made available to those in non-matchmaking activities, and none of my friends still play Destiny.

Etheric Light isn't just for old gear, since you'll need it for the new Vanguard/Crucible legendary gear (that's capped at 36 light, not 39 or 42). Not sure about the new weapons.

If you're on PS4, you're more than welcome to join my clan mates and I. Our numbers have dwindled since The Dark Below came out, too, but some of us are still active and, of course, really looking forward to House of Wolves. Same goes for anyone else here looking to play Destiny with good, helpful players.

It was likely due to the fact that the game was being made for four damn systems. If they were going to make a PC port it would have taken more time and the game would have been delayed...

Plus, cost.

Damn RNGesus has been trolling me lately. I ran the Nightfall strike with all three of my characters and got three scout rifles... this game hates me. Why you no give me Hawkmoon Destiny?
