I expected the Beta to end fairly soon, but it always comes too soon. I'm just glad that I got to spend the entire weekend with the game, and got to hit the moon map before it got locked.

 

I guess my verdict is: loved it and definitely preordering. I will probably never get any Crucible marks since I really don't like PvP or capture the flag type stuff, but I love the exploration and free-roaming, and love being able to skulk about the wilds and hunt fallen and run into a random hoard by myself. It's nice being able to all of a sudden find yourself maneuvering around the battlefield fighting a Devil Walker surrounded by various fallen enemies with no other players on the map with my Hunter, relying on headshots and pinpoint strikes. That, and I just love the environments and the setting.

Anyone get the chance to play the other classes?

 

I only got to try the Human Warlock and Exo Titan, but I'd really like to try different combos and the Hunter class.

I didn't get around to creating a Warlock. I only had an male exo Titan and a female human Hunter. I'm definitely a fan of the Hunter class, despite being a bit underpowered. I just really like the whole knife-wielding and sniping involved.

I think I got a lot of my Sniper fix with all my other classes. I really loved using the Scout rifles, and no heads were safe in my wake.

 

Though, them locking off areas with level 18 enemies was interesting, and I feel strangely teased about it.

Yeah, after trying out a few different types of rifles, the scout rifle ended up being my favorite as well. I'm not a fan of the hand cannons at all.

Oh, and there's another enemy class we never saw, sorry, but I don't remember what they were called, but they were time travelers of some caliber.

Basically the Destiny equivalent of light elves/ljósálfar I'd say.

 

I'd be interested to see if anyone perceives Awoken to be more like dark elves/dökkálfar actually

The Beta was fun. I took a risky route on my Hunter with Hand cannon and shotgun, but in the end it pays off with the agility.

Hunter was my favourite class... can't wait to try Bladedancer.  The skillset sounds dope.

Apparently the Awoken have a sort of separate nation out in the system (Ruled by the "Queen of the Reef") that really dislikes outsiders, even Awoken from the city.

 

They always struck me as something closer to... some kind of ghost more than any variety of elf that sprung to mind.  I do like the way they somehow managed to hold onto the feel of a fantasy setting in some ways.  Like walking into the speaker's office (Felt like I was walking into a wizard's tower)
