I just hope some of the parents here aren't the same ones who leave their kids cry in the background on mic! -.-

I'm a parent too and I play ME3MP. But don't worry, they don't cry in the background, because they are aged 15 and 10 -- although they may make some snark comment about my squadmates :P

PS: Oh, and if you see "me" playing in a Bronze lobby, that's actually my 10-year old son...

3 kids. My 10-year-old wishes I'd let him play Mass Effect, but I'm too strict. My youngest daughter likes to ask me what wave I'm on, and if I "die a lot." ...apparently, when she's watching I guess.

Was curious whether there are other mums and dads who play?

Yep, two boys 4 and 8. :) Can be complicated somedays but works out fine.

I bet she'd like to spend some more quality time with you instead. =]

I've got a 3 year old boy and a 5 year old girl. I play in the evenings when they're all in bed, think they're still quite a few years away from being able to play and for it being age-appropriate.

There are many more mature/older gamers out there playing ME3MP, there was a thread on it around Christmas time. It's nice to see a broader cross section of society playing the game than one would naively expect.

I only play when our child is either asleep or when my partner is with him as well. I always make sure he doesn't see the mature-rated games I play. Unless it's something harmless, like walking Shepard through Normandy.

It is a good rule, but somethimes my kid "ambushes" me by waking up and sneaking on me. I just told him that the enemy is only robots and i just deactivate them (so far it is working).  The only thing he is allowed to watch is Minecraft.

Parenting sure does teach one to be creative with explanations. :D Our little one is also (naturally?) quite curious about everything he is not permitted to see. And he's a stealthy little ninja on top of that. :) Lucky for us he's pretty good with rules and can resist the temptation on sneaking up on me when I'm doing something, ehh, not appropriate for his eyes. That did not come out right. I'm a decent parent, I swear.

We've played some games together with him, like Pac-man, Bubble Bobble, Ilo Milo, Super Mario and Lego Star Wars (which had a PEGI rating 3+ but was a bit rowdy for my taste).

We do.  I only play weeknights with a small amount on the weekends (chores and chores).  She caught me playing Asari and wanted to watch.  I decided to only do Cerberus but she caught me playing the reapers when she woke up wanting water one nightImage IPB.  I even play dress up... I think I'm starting to share too much now!Image IPB

Yep, 11 and 6.  There are plenty of parents who use gaming to decompress.

This made me laugh because while my daughter doesn't watch much anymore she did when I was making that jump to gold.  She'd rub it in when we failed Image IPB

Image IPB You can't say no.  It's like saying no to yourself since they look like you.  I'm lucky enough to not have been a princess... yet.
