+1 on what tommythetomcat said...make a Knoppix boot disk, boot off of that, and then copy your ME data to a flash drive or external hard drive. I've recovered data off of "dead" machines many, many times that way.


I was going to suggest that too. One of the easiest ways to get data off the computers at work. We use it all the time.

You're not the only one. My backup drive where I stored my saves from the first game died some weeks ago. I was starting to play a new campaign when my video card died on me! Currently I'm using a dingy laptop that won't run any modern games. Thankfully my new vid card is now ready to pick up, and I can get going again.

Something like this never happened to me but just to be certain I copied my saved files to my 2nd hard disk.

You should have had a backup harddrive such as a external one.
