Yeah, anyone who disagrees with you obviously just hates fun. I think I'll just sulk on my couch for a bit thinking about why it is that I find no enjoyment in life because I'm not infatuated with a fictional Fantasy-RPG character.<_<

Morrigan has a lot of nuance, with each playthrough I find a different side of her. Figured I might as well elaborate a bit since this thread ended up getting me in a Morrigan musing mood.

My canon Warden (elf mage) was both afraid and fascinated by her to begin with. If he wasn't gay I could have easily seen that fascination turning into something more. (As it was, she asked if they could be more at one point, and he tried to let her down easy. That was painful, even though she may have just been doing it as part of her plan. My Warden felt badly about it because he was in the same situation concerning Alistair... There's such a strong connection between those three in my game, their fates are tied, but they're so sad.) She represented things he was told a mage shouldn't be, and he would never admit it, but he was jealous of that. He eventually befriended her even though she disapproved of all his do-gooding, and though he never entirely trusted her. I felt like their relationship became more complicated after the Dark Ritual, more than friendship, but not a romantic love. It isn't simply that they have a child together; Morrigan knows him better than anyone now, she knows all his darkest secrets because she shares them.

My Lady Cousland (rogue) didn't get along at all with Morrigan at first. An apostate witch who was always nagging her and the boyfriend. Then they became best friends, haha. Maybe it helped that Cousland ended up breaking up with Alistair. And that Cousland was something of a wild one herself...

My current Warden playthrough that I still haven't finished is a female City Elf (warrior), and her relationship with Morrigan was surprisingly different. From early in the playthrough, Morrigan seemed very vulnerable, and Tabris took on what felt like an older sister role with her. (Well, I guess that's one way to describe it. Found myself wishing Morrigan was available of s/s relationship in this playthrough.) Tabby isn't as professional or polite (or have any sense of direction) as my Surana, but she's easily the most mature of my Wardens, and that seems to come through in ways I don't expect. She's very serious about taking care of Morrigan, even though Morrigan is more than capable of looking after herself. In this playthrough more than the others I got a strong sense of Morrigan being in situation she was really uncomfortable with.

Some players stabbed her at the mirror .
Counterproductive imo.
No proof they killed her although they believe they did.

it opens the path for Gaider to bring her back without that many people screaming retcon....

Don't these people realize that in fiction, unless you see the body, the person is never dead?

(Heck, even with bodies, their state of mortality is still negotiable. *cough*Flemeth*cough*)

After you stab her, she stumbles back into the mirror while still alive and conscious. No way she died from that.

My Dalish rogue Li warden kissed her then went through the mirror with her.
Thought it would be silly to stab her.
Making Morrigan the npc that guides your PC Inquisitor through DAI was a choice Gaider obviously made.

My character wanted to go with her but couldn't because Morrigan isn't romance-able for female protagonists. (Still stings to this day because I absolutely love Morrigan, but what can you do?)

Will Morrigan be our guide? Has that been confirmed? I would love it if it's true, but either way, I'd be happy to see her.

Unlikely any of us will get a direct chance to
kill Morrigan or Flemeth.
I realize some players WANT to kill them but I hope they're denied that possibility .

As long as I can ignore her I'm cool.

Morrigan is my favorite character from the series. Down to earth, straight-forward, not restrained by dogmatic mandates and ideals, no zealous prejudices. Dark character design. Etc, etc.

My warden disagreed with her about nearly everything, but still ended up becoming her friend. The ending to Witch Hunt where my characters asks Morrigan if she needs help and that floors her is still one of my favorite DA moments.

She's an untrustworthy idiot. No way I'd trust her with a baby, nor subject any companions to her conjugal visit. Felt zero remorse about stabbing her at the mirror, and will do so again should the choice present itself.

Love/hate feelings. I hate her over confidence That she has....Though my warden could've chopped her head off at any moment or poised her food. But I grew to like her somewhat. I can only stand Zevrans over confidence because he's awesome & sexy. Nevertheless I understood she has never had a friend before and i felt bad for her. My warden didn't trust her though. While they were friends they weren't as good as friends that morrigan thought, that's why I didn't go through with the dark ritual & had logain die :-)

She's written well and her character is interesting enough, but I don't love her. 'Mysterious' has become 'annoyingly obtuse' and I don't have much patience for that.

Was Morrigan ever annoyingly obtuse? Or are you talking about DA II and the ME series?

I haven't played ME, though in retrospect 'obtuse' wasn't the word I was looking for and I can't think of the actual one right now. Not that she wasn't obtuse. Bleh.

My problem with Morrigan is, I think, that by the end of Witch Hunt I was a bit over her giving us non-answers and the marketing for the DLC (Morrigan's Secrets Revealed!) compounded my frustration. It felt as though she was designed like this to prompt debate and speculation amongst fans rather than from any inherent need on Morrigan's part to be cryptic.

I could be wrong, naturally, and maybe DA:I will prove me so, but it's one of the reasons I don't care much for her character, or any character who can only communicate via vague hints and foreshadowing. They stop being a character and turn into a magic 8 ball. :P

I didn't mind her in DA:O, FWIW.
