(DISCLAIMER: I already completely understand that these things are NOT how the majority of the gaming world do things.)
My group and I tend to:
* only engage DMed games, never leaving the server up between sessions
* build our groups mostly from people we know face to face, not online
* use voice chat (Skype) alongside NWN, and most don't want to game without it
* use an unspoken "honor system" in which we don't use unintended advantages, like instances where the game allows us to do something the DM probably did not intend
* treat the game like it's serious for our characters, even if we're joking around
* observe a fairly strict separation of player knowledge from character knowledge
Do you do any of that, or anything similar?
I'm wondering if my group's methods are rare, extremely rare, or almost unique.
