Okay, so I just finally finished ME3 with all DLC(except Citadel, I tried but couldn't get into it). I enjoyed the entire series despite the finale of 3. For me the journey was more rewarding than the end result.

Anyway, I am looking for another story based RPG to play. Sci-fi, fantasy, whatever.

Pretty much played all the Bioware games.

I am not interested in games like Skyrim or The Witcher, while both are great games, they are lacking in player character development, I am looking for a game that develops the main character as the game goes on, or even if the game decides what the character is about from the beginning, for me that is part of the immersion. I don't want to imagine what the character could be like, I want to see what they are like within the game itself.

I realize this is very limiting. I am not saying I would never play those type of games, It just isn't the type of game I am interested in ATM.
Graphics are not an issue for me, story has always been the core of the game for me esp. with RPGs.

So, I am asking for some suggestions.

Please and thank you.

I'd recommend giving Alpha Protocol a try. There are notable differences, but overall I think it'll feel pretty familiar to a ME fan. It's a story based shooter (although you also have the option of playing stealthy) with branching, voice acted dialogue trees, a heavy focus on story, and offers decisions that matter later into the story.

Just be sure to save/quicksave fairly often. Obsidian games tend to be known for being riddled with bugs. I never had much trouble with Alpha Protocol when I played it, but apparently other people have.

If you aren't opposed to trying out MMOs, Star Wars: The Old Republic is worth trying for the story/characters. Even if you don't want to stick around at the level cap and farm endgame instances, there's a decent amount of replayability in experiencing the different class stories (every class has its own set of party members for you to interact with like a single player Bioware game). It's free to play so you can download it and try it out whenever you want, but do keep in mind that free accounts get a xp penalty. It's not too bad early on, but in the later levels it'll make things really drag as your class story starts to build to its climax and you need delay it to grind enough xp to get high enough level to progress..

Well, I Played ToR and finished every class' story lol.

I may give Alpha Protocol a try. I noticed you didn't mention it being an RPG, is that the case? I am not into standard shooters at all.
