I believe Mary made a comment regarding a coworker wanting badly to slap a companion (that Mary wrote), and she indicated her glee at the reaction.

If my memory is correct, perhaps that is an indication that Mary wrote Vivienne.

The article and other sources seem to strongly indicate Luke wrote her. If so, even though she's likely to be an awesome character, don't get your hopes up for a romance. Given that good 'ol Luke wrote Aveline as well.

Nobody on the BSN has reason for their speculative hate, it is all based on our gut feelings.

It's hard to tell. I wonder if Vivienne's like Morrigan, someone whom most people will hate at first sight but grow to like her more when they get to know her.

Who said this conversation was being about characters from new content? It could be just a small talk about old days of DA2.

How could anybody slap Merrill? Daisy was sooo cute adorable and innocent. Sure, Merrill was ditzy and needed a reality check. Slapping Merrill would be like kicking a puppy.

I hated Merrill so much I made a playthrough just to kill her. I've killed companions in the past because of the plot, but never because of pure hate.
