You are also writing Varric again in DA3, right?

I am writing Varric again, yes. I have claimed the letter V as my sole domain.

My friend just read that sentence aloud and then RUINED your precious precious words for me.

I think the painter might be Vivienne, albeit with a different costume.

The painter? Who are we talking about, here?

Scribe is probably more accurate, I suppose, but it's the third one (going left to right) on top in this picture:

Not the same character as Vivienne, despite also having darker-coloured skin.

Have I ever told you how much I like you?
Thank you for the information Mr. Gaider!

And from now on I know who's responsible for all Prothean VIs starting with 'V'.

But she's a companion right?   (Or should we only be trying for writer slip ups in the late evening when they might be drunk?)

I'm not going to say whether she's a companion, or if she's even still in DAI. Not every character mentioned in that survey was a companion, and some of them either no longer exist or have changed signficantly. Hence why I have said before not to hold it up as gospel-- you may be very disappointed.

Wouldn't call them writer slip-ups so much as writer charity, hahaha.  This forum makes me feel like a dope fiend looking for a fix, sometimes.

Okay, calmed down now after THE David Gaider replied to one of MY posts! Hehe, fangirling!

Yeah, if the scribe was removed, it's the sort of cut content that would be really interesting to know about her role and why she was cut. Actually, her role is interesting regardless. Is she Varric's storytelling protégé?

This exchange has nothing to do with Vivienne. Whom I wrote. You guys know that I write all sorts of characters who aren't followers, right? The game is positively full of them.

Will she be gigglesquee?

The best thing I've read so far was " the companion is not build to be liked " or close to something like that. Don't know if the Dev ( Lukas ) was talking about Vivienne in the article, but this sentence made me happy.

From what we have been told about Vivienne (which is not much admittedly), she would probably be strongly inclined to melt your face for that kind of an implication.

Don't be silly, Mary. We only write followers, and only followers who can be romanced.

Aw come on sir. You make it sound like we all downgrade the other lead characters/party members into those categories when you *know* that's not true. One of the best things about Dragon Age 2 was that my party members got in my face or disagreed with things that I did.

They were my partners, friends, rivals. I never saw them as just followers or someone to "get jiggy" with. Was I disappointed that Aveline wasn't interested in being in a romance with Hawke? Yeah, because I genuinely developed feelings for her.

And, on the flip side, I was elated that Merrill turned out to be such an amazing, pretty complex romance especially if you didn't see eye to eye on things. Bottomline, for me, these are characters first and foremost. Their not just a means to an end.

We have Cassandra, Varic and Vivienne as confirmed companions yeah? Warrior, rogue and mage. Should we assume it'll be like DA2 where you get more or less two of each? In which case I'm still hoping for a Tevinter magister as another mage and Cole as a rogue. Cuz if he was in the game he'd play much more like a rogue than a mage. And then Celene as another warrior. Because I want the empress of Orais as a companion. And LI. But that should go without saying, really. This is the BSN after all.

I wouldn't presume too much in that direction. Kirby is rather vicious in terms of playing with the audience's feelings.

Speculating was fun, even though my blindfolded dart toss ricocheted off the ceiling before bouncing off a light fixture and improbably hitting the bull's-eye.  However I was "certain" that the 3 month old "slap her every time she speaks" tweet perfectly fit with an annoying and outspoken Vivienne.  Oh well, the egg on my face is delicious.

I think it was more of a general statement that characters aren't written so everyone will love them. They have their own likes, dislike, agenda and personalities and some might clash with what you are going to be playing or what you like in general.

The article especially mention that everyone who think that mages should be "caged" are going to have an hard time with Vivienne. This is valid with NPCs as well, I wonder if the game have something like ME2 where 2 companions clash over "ideals".

The party banter should be awesome too.

I have a soft spot for dark skined girls. Now, if you guys confirm that Vivi is romancable, I think my canon romance in DA:I is set :o
