Scribe is probably more accurate, I suppose, but it's the third one (going left to right) on top in this picture:

Not the same character as Vivienne, despite also having darker-coloured skin.

Thank you so much for the clarification!!!! *fan hugs*

I'm not going to say whether she's a companion, or if she's even still in DAI. Not every character mentioned in that survey was a companion, and some of them either no longer exist or have changed signficantly. Hence why I have said before not to hold it up as gospel-- you may be very disappointed.

Vivienne as a companion confirmed!

upd. I should have read the whole page..  Anyway I really like this character (scribe) and i hope she will stay. Just my 2 cents.

I liked her too lol. She looked... handy?

You are also writing Varric again in DA3, right?

I am writing Varric again, yes. I have claimed the letter V as my sole domain.

I love Varric, I'm so glad he's making a return. Thank you so much for writing one of my favorite characters! :D

But she's a companion right?   (Or should we only be trying for writer slip ups in the late evening when they might be drunk?)

Is Vivienne a qunari? Are those horns or a horns shaped hat?

It was confirmed that she is human. But I think someone is lying. I think she is really a Qunari. Maybe I'm just hoping that she is, though.....

It's just hope. She's at least 50% human alright! Maybe a bit of elf in her, she is fabulous after all.:wizard:

She's not a Qunari. Her backstory has been confirmed in both the Game Informer Article, David, and now Mary who is writing her. She's an Orlisian mage and her "horns" are just the design/look of her headdress. As Leliana explains to us (and as we saw to some extent in Mark of the Assassin) the Orlisians are gaudy and overly fashionable. The more out-there the fashion statement, the better. Like the real French.

I'd really just love for Mary to stick a line in there somewhere, where Vivianne asks if we like her hat, and if you answer incorrectly, she sets your (robe/armor/shoes) on fire. *nods*

The GI article suggests that Vivienne doesn't like it when people characterize mages as powder kegs who are one bad day from turning into abominations.

Setting you on fire because you don't like her hat doesn't seem to fit with that.

She could threaten to do it and then nonchalantly walk away. If she's aware of the perception many people have about mages, the suggestion that she could do it and isn't might be more effective than letting it go with a laugh.

Indeed. Very much hoping we don't get another overly moody, combustable version of Anders from DA2. I like the idea that she has ardant beliefs about who mages are and how they should conduct themselves or be seen by others, but I don't want to see another Mage party member who throws a fit or goes all emo just because someone doesn't like Mages (or what their wearing)

This exchange has nothing to do with Vivienne. Whom I wrote. You guys know that I write all sorts of characters who aren't followers, right? The game is positively full of them.

Don't be silly, Mary. We only write followers, and only followers who can be romanced.

you KNOW people will take you seriously, yes?

They could belch, hiccup or pass some other gas and posters around here would take it as confirming a feature.

Yes they have acknowledged in the past anything they say people will take it seriously. No matter how un-seriously it is said, sarcastically or totally impossible it might be.

Do you pay attention? Getting yelled at on these forums is just part of them ever posting and its like water off of a ducks back for them.
