I accidently unlocked a specialization I shouldn't have access to yet - how do I remove it? I had games saved prior to installing the mod but for some reason, replacing them doesn't help!!

First objective would be to locate DAO modmanager.exe
under, in my case D:\\GAMES\\Dragon age Origins\\Dragon Age\\bin_ship\\DAO-Modmanager_1_9d-277
and then un-check whatever mod you have that caused the problem

Doesn't work. I have unchecked the mod, even deleted the saves and replaced them with backups BEFORE any mods were added!

I remember i got a bug during GoA, the ghost dwarf didnt get the 4th slot for companions,
instead that bronto summon took his place.
I had to go back perhaps 3-4 saves before it got corrected.
Luckily i have a habit of saving often

Every bloody save is corrupted. I read somewhere I should try to delete the profile.dap, so I did, but now Morrigan refuses to teach and Leliana has no dialogue option for teaching grrrr. Isn't there some value somewhere I can change? Getting really pissed off at this.

Specializations are tied to your profile account I believe, so once you unlock them they are available forever. I don't really see how this is an issue, you would learn it eventually from a tome or conversation anyway, and you could always just wait to select it till you want to.
I suppose you could make a whole new profile to reset your specializations and achievements, but lose your saves in the process.

The feeling of having achieved it when the "specialization unlocked" notification arrives is important to me. Having something I'm not supposed to have makes me feel like a cheater. And I hate cheating.
I have deleted the profile and that seems to have fixed it. The achievements have gone to hell, but who cares really? Morrigan seems to only teach Shapeshifting when her approval is low for some wierd reason, so getting the Shapeshifter again was easy. And I'll simply have to use the mod again to unlock the Bard spec.
