Yes. Romantic relationships with computers is something that happens on a day-to-day basis. Why, just the other day I read about this man who married Siri.

Ventus, you know that plenty of people would set themselves up with AIs today if the tech allowed for it .

Twenty, thirty, forty years down the line, that might actually be a thing.

It's probably going to be a bit longer than that.

You seem to have trouble grasping the idea that this is science fiction, and therefore things happen that don't happen in modern society. I would have thought that was rather obvious.

Wow.

What a bad counter argument.

Me either. Hell, half of my friends think a person is a loser just for playing games or being on the computer too much. "Nofriendo", I think one calls it. I don't hang around much anymore, but I think they're pretty indicative of avg joe and dudebro thinking. Same with their wives and girlfriends.

The only people I've heard wanting this other stuff are weirdos on the fringes of the internet, still living in the 90s like Cyberpunk is cool, and condescendingly dismissing everyone as living in "meatspace".

Objectophilia is already a thing between people and inanimate objects. It isn't much of a stretch to believe that people can become romantically attached to a more animate object.

I don't know of anybody in my personal life who would either, but there would definitely be a "market".

To be fair, cyberpunk IS cool.

Unless you're talking about the Cyberpunk franchise, which is still cool.

Of course there will "be" an audience. There are 7 billion people on the planet. 11.4 billion in ME3. There'll be a market for quite literally anything.

Right, and those looking for "companionship" is a pretty significant audience.

I'm sure you could find plenty of fan fiction and art that depicts EDI if you poked around a bit. Which should be indicative enough that people are interested.

I was actually talking about the fact he's a bit of a loner who only really has a connection with ships. And she, more or less, is the Normandy. Their relationship is a natural (mind the pun) and realistic character growth. Also EDI's a self-aware being, a bit more than "a computer". Also this is sci-fi.

Yes. Because noticing sexualization and character analysis are mutually exclusive.

You need to point me to all these posts where "lol sexbot" or "lol cameltoe" is also followed by character analysis, because all I ever see is people complaining about her boobs because (boobs are bad or something).

Think it only has Asari, Quarian, Drell, Turian, Batarian and Volus modells in the regular edition.

I don't really see how "But I guess I like what her character was doing" is anything but a non-sequitur when discussing her physical appearance.

Well, you probably know in what direction most fanart/fiction goes and well, EDI is a robot, so it's even creepier.

He advised that Joker undergo a mental examination too.

Javik does not approve of robosexuality apparently.

Maybe you're right. Hell, half of this and DA's fans probably consists of people merely looking for "companionship" in digital entities. So there's a market right now. MAybe they even outnumber all of us basement dwelling rpg'ers and shooter fans.

This coming from the guy who says that popularity = a character's quality.

Lot's of people think Liara is great. I just think it's people fulfilling that their boyhood fantasy of banging a blue alien.

I blame Star Trek.
