I'm sure you could find plenty of fan fiction and art that depicts EDI if you poked around a bit. Which should be indicative enough that people are interested.

Sad, but probably true.

This coming from the guy who says that popularity = a character's quality.

Lot's of people think Liara is great. I just think it's people fulfilling that their boyhood fantasy of banging a blue alien.

I blame Star Trek.

Rule 34 man...

I pretty much agree with you about Liara, yeah.

And that would be incredibly foolish of you. Because if it were true, all blue aliens in any fiction would be lusted after basically equally regardless of any actual characterization. Obviously, that very much isn't the case at all.

Sure you wanna go there? You might get some choice comments about catsuits and genetically "perfect" curves.

It's only natural to be attracted to perfect humans when you are human. Right?

Miranda and Liara both are kind of a throwback to 60's sci-fi fantasies (Liara = Orion girls. Miranda = Barbarella).

Right... That's why Aayla Secura from Star Wars is seen as total space nymph in her cut-off tank top and tight pants traditional Jedi garments. Or why Georgie put her in his movies after seeing her in a comic book.

Or the Orion Slave Girl (who is admittedly green skinned) is so popular with the xenophiles out there.

But you know. Characterization.

That face isn't exactly 'perfect' in everyone's opinion.

Tell that to the asari, who ARE universally lusted after.

Yes. Because noticing sexualization and character analysis are mutually exclusive.

You need to point me to all these posts where "lol sexbot" or "lol cameltoe" is also followed by character analysis, because all I ever see is people complaining about her boobs because (boobs are bad or something).

I don't really see how "But I guess I like what her character was doing" is anything but a non-sequitur when discussing her physical appearance.

Thing is, complaints about her appearence opens the door for discussions about it. For example, despite her physical appearence it does make sense for an infiltration unit. Being physically attractive can help you. Also she's not a romance option for Shepard, so her sexualisation arguably can't be taken advantage of by the player, unlike other sexualised characters.

Thing is, most people just go "lol sexbot", and some people even argue that she shouldn't be attractive just because it's somehow "bad", not realising that that viewpoint is pretty sexist.

She doesn't look human. She doesn't have pretty face. She's a Quarian. She's an alien. Aliens aren't pretty.

And also, dog legs.

Yeah, 3 fingers per hand, 2 toes per foot, and dog legs are human.

Well, I suppose they are if you inbreed enough.

Hammasa is hotter than Yvonne, who cares about the glowy eyes? Who cares if she's a Quarian, at least she has emotions. And also, potato face.

I care if she's a Human. I care if she has emotions. I just prefer women who are competent and reserved to emotional teenage trainwrecks. Also, Quarian.
