Sexualisation isn't an issue just because it has the potential to be taken advantage of by the player. It's an issue because it sends the wrong message. The game has a small cast of heroes - just shy of twenty squadmates. Ten of them are female. Of these, seven have what can be described as large breasts. Meanwhile, all the nobody NPC's have small breasts. Regardless of the fact that it is not actually connected, the correlation is: you are more powerful and important if you have large breasts.Robosexual wrote...
Thing is, complaints about her appearence opens the door for discussions about it. For example, despite her physical appearence it does make sense for an infiltration unit. Being physically attractive can help you. Also she's not a romance option for Shepard, so her sexualisation arguably can't be taken advantage of by the player, unlike other sexualised characters.
Thing is, most people just go "lol sexbot", and some people even argue that she shouldn't be attractive just because it's somehow "bad", not realising that that viewpoint is pretty sexist.
As a character, EDI was not required to have large breasts. It plays no role in her character, no role in her relationship and no role in the gameplay. It's an entirely cosmetic decision on the designer's part. I reserve the right to criticise what I see as an arbitrary reinforcement of the message that a woman's self-worth can be measured by her cup size.

I liked EDI until ME3 had to go and poop on her.
Even in my fanfic that where I change the ending, I kill her.

All the female squadmates have perfect skin. Perfect shiny hair. Slender waists. Pretty lips, pretty eyes.
But that's all perfectly okay, right? That's all fine and dandy? But breasts? Nope. You're too mature for that.
That about right?

Not necessarily. Liara's skin is hideous in LotSB. She looks like she has goosebumps all over her face.

Of course ME4 will be about the war between the LIs over who Shepard banged the most. The EDI group will die out first.
So Liara vs Tali? Maybe a bit Miranda.

I'd actually prefer it if characters had unconventional, distinguishing traits, actually.
Thicker bodies. A scar or two. Scraggly hair. Mismatched eyes. An oddly-placed mole.
Builds character. Characterization.

Tali has a different body. Quarians have exremely slim waists and those relatively wide hips. Breasts are smaller than Miri's or Ash's though.
