Sexualisation isn't an issue just because it has the potential to be taken advantage of by the player. It's an issue because it sends the wrong message. The game has a small cast of heroes - just shy of twenty squadmates. Ten of them are female. Of these, seven have what can be described as large breasts. Meanwhile, all the nobody NPC's have small breasts. Regardless of the fact that it is not actually connected, the correlation is: you are more powerful and important if you have large breasts.
As a character, EDI was not required to have large breasts. It plays no role in her character, no role in her relationship and no role in the gameplay. It's an entirely cosmetic decision on the designer's part. I reserve the right to criticise what I see as an arbitrary reinforcement of the message that a woman's self-worth can be measured by her cup size.
All the female squadmates have perfect skin. Perfect shiny hair. Slender waists. Pretty lips, pretty eyes.
But that's all perfectly okay, right? That's all fine and dandy? But breasts? Nope. You're too mature for that.
That about right?
He never once said anything about maturity. He that is sends the message that a woman's self-worth it measured in the size of her breasts.
