Do you 'hate' aliens, Cthulhu? Do you 'hate' Synthetics?

Can't speak for Cthulhu but I hold most of ME's xenos and synths with less regard than I do the goombas from Super Mario Bros.

Those goombas are inspirationally brave considering how who they're constantly going up against.

"Hate" is a strong word, but I dislike synthetics in ME, yes. Where are you going with this?

Well, I generally don't make decisions in these games based on who I like or don't like. Can't stand elves; the whole "We are at one with nature, unlike you stupid humans" business just gets to me. Yet I haven't once betrayed the elves in DA:O, because from an in-game point of view, it just seems like such a jerkass thing to do for the kinds of characters I like to play.

Having said that, I really like the synthetic characters (at least in ME2; as others have noted, there's too much Pinocchio shenanigans in ME3). They (along with maybe the Rachni) are pretty much the only aliens in the game; everyone else is mostly just people with funny faces. I found the Quarian-related content, by contrast, to consistently be among the weakest material in the game, reaching its nadir with Tali's loyalty mission in ME2; just got way too tired of rescuing this character.

You have to rescue that damsel in distress three times in one game.

Hmm Osborn, you are the only one I've ever hear say, that the Quarian content was weak...

@Wolf She compensates by being one of the most likeable characters and is the only character, aside from Garrus to stay loyal.

To you, maybe.

And every other character who is loyal.

Because the time I spent gathering loyalty in ME2 meant nothing, I guess.

It's very difficult to take people who claim they 'hate synthetics' or 'hate aliens' seriously.

It's very hard to take you seriously.

I know. People have a hard time parting with their delusions and illusions of power. Truth can be an ugly and difficult thing.

I like the complete lack of self-awareness in this post.

Do you think you would dislike synthetics if they existed in reality?

I'm sure a council consisting of a goomba, koopa troopa and a shy guy wouldn't go "ah yes reapers" on us.

If for no reason those three wouldn't be able to form the words, yes.

But yeah, still better, really.  I mean, they wouldn't talk much.  That can only be a positive.

Depends what they were like. If they were anything like the geth, then yes.

Funny thing was that I never wanted her there. The characters that mean something to me are in ME2.

Translator: The Goomba councillor says we should immediately begin walking horizontally towards the enemy while the winged goombas provide air support.

Second Translator: The Koopa Troopa councillor concurs.

Third Translator: The Shy Guy Councillor will be sure to provide ranged support.

Shepard: I like these new guys, they get it!

Quick, someone make a Mass Effect dating sim.

It will cause much negativity in character discussions to dissipate inexplicably.
