Tali is 25 in ME3. Shepard is 34.

34-25=9.

:lol::wub:

Btw (still off topic, sorry), they are talking about "galactic years" in ME. I am 48 Sol-system y/o, but I wonder what that would be in those "galactic years"...?

I never got a grip of that (I guess I didn't consider it to be a major thing, though)

On Topic:
Even though, I started off supporting an EDI/Joker-relationship, it felt kind of odd...but being more soft-hearted now than when I was when I was 25, I don't like EDI getting killed in the Destroy-ending (which is the one I'd prefer - or shooting the "kid", being the "softy" woman that I am nowadays):innocent:

edit: "odd" = meaning EDI is still the ship, too...but then again, Joker loves "his" ship, so...

edit again: I tell/comfort/try to convince myself that EDI is reaper tech, which could be a "dangerous thing to keep" in the Destroy ending (still being the "softy woman" LOL)

Shepard is 32 in ME3. He might be 31 since his birthday is April 11, but I doubt the game is over that early in the year.

Was that the date ME3 was released? Well, not here in Europe I guess (just off topic again, but still curious)

No. ME3 was released on March 6, 2012.

April 11, 2154 is Commander Shepard's canonical date of birth

Thanks MassivelyEffective. I was curious to see if they had made it a release date on purpose. ;-)

Dont forget to detract the two years he spent dead.

Looks like someone will have to make one - I did an archive trawl and couldn't find any EDI groups. I may have missed one, but there's no way I'm going to go back looking again.

What is it with these people and Tali? I swear, every page (and bear in mind, those fooking archives have about 6 entries per page) was another 'Official Tali'Zorah support group'. I get it guys, she's virginal, nerdy and reverent in an endearingly 'cute' way, but seriously now.

Congratulations.
You turned it into a Tali thread.
Great job genius.

Whoopsies.

Alright then, let's get back to EDI. I like EDI. She's way better as a robot than as a hologram. The sexualised thing is okay for three reasons:

1. It's justified in story by her being an infiltration unit built by a dirty old man with a thing for women in catsuits.
2. This series has had women in catsuits since day one, so complaining about it now is kind of hypocritical.
3. If you don't like robot cameltoes, don't give the robot the cameltoe outfit.

women also make the best assassins, the most successful assassins in the world by far, in fact

1. How is standing out making you good at infiltration? By all accounts on Mars, she was awful at infiltration and got lucky do to plot armor.
2. Who said everyone was ever okay with it?
3. Wut? That's the least of my problems with EDI as a squadmate. She's also boring and rarely useful. I used her on Grissom and Cronos, otherwise she sat with Joker.

1. I think Susan Arendt said it best: either way she's gonna stand out for being a stranger. However, if she's a hot chick, nobody will care.
2. Yeah, but if you're complaining about her 3 games in when you've had Miranda, Samara, Jack and the entire asari race for the past two games, you're probably a little late.
3. Are you kidding? She's one of the best squadmates- versatile, reasonably tanky and great for tech detonations. I admit Decoy is a bit of a waste, but apart from that she's solid.

3. Depends I guess. I really have no need for incinerate or cryo blast. And Overload is Overload. I'm more a Carnage+Warp+Inferno Grenade+Throw. Anybody can set off detonations.

Eh, it's personal preference. I prefer women of roughly the same age, you prefer more mature women. I prefer Persian women, you date only caucasian. At the end of the day it doesn't matter as long as your happy.

Yet Tali is 9 years younger than Shepard.

I think I explained that earlier, about tweaking the canon a little and making Shep a few years younger...

Heck, the character creator lets you make him look like 50+, I've always just ignored the canon age.

Even worse, it's a Collectors Edition exclusive, so most likely half the people that complain about it don't actually have it, they're just complaining because waaah bioware.

I would have liked her more as just a non-sexualized mech (if they insisted she had a body at all). The dialogue can be interesting at times. To me, she comes off like a kid sister just asking questions about life, than a sexbot. Of course, Bioware knows their fans better than I do. Just about everything revolves around sex with the fanbase.

On a sidenote though, I'd never totally be down with it, because I lose any potential ME2 squadmates in the process. ME1 fans got a nice sendoff with most of the original squad, and the rest of the slots were filled by newcomers. I'm always going to see a lost opportunity here.

Because robot cameltoe breaks lore.

Refer to my post on page 5 or page 6.

I thought the, erm, encroaching EDI outfit was just one of the From Ashes appearances, not a CE exclusive.

I have no issue with EDI being sexually attractive. It probably should be lampshaded, but thankfully, it was.

Ah you're right, my mistake. CE and FA was effectively one and the same for me. Still, his point still stands, people should just not use it if they dislike it.

EDI is an interesting character, and her relationship with Joker makes sense. She has fantastic characterisation and presents interesting dilemmas, arguably she is one of the best and most consistently written characters in the game. Problem is people just look at her breasts and complain about her being sexualised, not realising all that shows is they haven't been paying attention to anything but her boobs.

It shows something a lot more damning than that. That they think breasts are a sexual characteristic but pretty faces, pretty hair, pretty eyes and so forth somehow aren't.

You'll never see a complaint against pretty faces, pretty hair, and pretty eyes, of course.

Yes. Romantic relationships with computers is something that happens on a day-to-day basis. Why, just the other day I read about this man who married Siri.

Because she's among the only consistently written characters in the game.

Yes. Because noticing sexualization and character analysis are mutually exclusive.

You seem to have trouble grasping the idea that this is science fiction, and therefore things happen that don't happen in modern society. I would have thought that was rather obvious.
