Good evening,
I assume it is a technical question, so I post here...
I am living in France, and have a canadian version of
Mass Effect 1 (NTSC, french version). I want to buy ME2 abd use my ME1
save, but it seems ME2 is not region free. Want would happened if I
bought the PAL version ? Would it be possible to load my NTSC save ?
Thanks in advance for your answer !

Hi Bann Duncan,

thank for your answer. I think I would wait an answer from somebody who has tested or an "Official".

Other information (if it can help...) : I have downloaded add-ons on the french market place, and they work with my NTSC version.

As far as I know the two versions are not cross compatible because they are written in different code.

PAL and NTSC are broadcast resolutions and completely unrelated to programming.

NTSC or SDTV: 480i is a screen resolution as is PAL or SDTV: 576i which is equal to 720x576 screen resolution. This is primarily a concern with older analog video such as movies or television. It may also be a concern for your console hardware but it shouldn't be an issue with the actual game.

Of course someone even more knowledgeable might hop in and correct me here but that's my understanding.

I is what I thought...

So I found this :

It is written than game works for games in different languages but same localization. Is it ok for games with the same language but different localization ? (and I insist : ME1 was region free).

Thanks !

Hey EdgeFayth,

If you haven't already discovered it for yourself. Yes you can use your NTSC Mass Effect 1 save with a PAL Mass Effect 2 game! Have done so myself. So go and enjoy what's likely to be one of the best titles this year.
