I don't see how destroying the Qunari would represent genocide. The Qunari aren't just the Kossith but different races. The Kossith also aren't all Qunari there are many that aren't part of that 'faith' and therefore they wouldn't be killed because they aren't the problem

The Qun is a cancer that can't be allowed to live.

Same thing the bosnians thought of the muslims.

And last time I checked, being muslim or devoted to islam wasn't a matter of race.

You can essentially wipe a whole bunch of them out, including a leader of the Qunari, in DA2.

Yes, but that wasn't enough.
Before choking on his own blood, the Arishok said, "we will be back."
They desire a takeover, and Thedas needs to prepare itself.

When the OP talks about wiping out, does he mean where there will be less than .001 percent of qunari survivors and where we travel to their native homelands to continue wiping them out until there are no more ox-men and their filthy qun ways left?

Or does he mean simply dispatching a squadron, platoon, batallion, or armies worth of qunari but not going after the woman and children civilians in order to make necklaces out of their ears?

Within the context of DA:I I am asking for the bolded.
There wouldn't be women or children among a military group due to strict gender roles of the Qun.

I usually spare the clans in my playthroughs simply because a little voice in my head says genocide is bad. I'm not too keen on wiping out the Qunari either but I'm not given a choice. I'm personally hoping that the combat tweaks they've been talking about include a "no genocide" option.

For argument's sake, aren't you then committing genocide on the werewolves?

When people say "wipe out" theu usually mean completely, civilians included. Also that's kinda what happened to the dalish if you failed to get them to stand down, so I thought you meant going to par vollen, killing everything, going by boat to whatever country they come from originally, and killing all the ones there as well.

I freed them from their curse and none of them died, at least to my knowledge anyway. That's what I choose in my playthrough at least.

Basically, I am advocating for Thedas to unite and defend itself.  The Qunari will invade. They have stated as much, have done so in the past, and will do so in the future.
The people of Thedas should not launch their own invasion, since no one knows how large the Qunari numbers are. Their breeding program undoubtedly assures their militiary numbers are sizable, though.

Edit:
If an eventual invasion of Par Vollen is the only way to put an end to the Qunari invasions, then they should proceed cautiously at first.  Admittedly this would be tricky since the Qunari are probably going to be ruthless in the defense of their shores. Their cannons may be too much to overcome.
Any covert task forces are really going to have a hard time getting in and reporting back. The threat of qamek indoctrination may be too great.

I've sent a carrier pigeon to Sten to give him fair warning. Maybe after this, he'll stop calling me 'callow.'

Nah, I wimp out and have Zathrian lift the curse.  That way only he has to die for his sins.  Sometimes I don't even push for Swiftrunner's shield.  I'm a pushover, what can I say.

Nah.

The qunari are too strong. Hawke was only able to kill the ones in kirkwall because they had grown weak from the years of sitting around. No reinforcements came.

We are able to kill the dalish because they are a dying race/culture. Nobody cares for the elves. We dont have to fear retaliation from the other clans. They just disappear.

The Qunari are terrible, I would welcome an opportunity to expel them from Thedas once and for all and give the Fex their homeland back, if any still live.

The Qunari are united, while the Dalish are relatively divided. It makes sense that people fight against the latter more often. The people of Thedas are incredibly opportunistic.

If the Fex are still in Par Vollen, then presumably they are all Qunari now, just like the native humans. They still live in their homeland as much as they ever did.

No, because inciting a war with another nation on another continent is generally a stupid thing to do - especially when you have demons from a tear in the Veil raining down on your own lands. *rolleyes*

Let's just make ear necklaces and horn chalices already. And fake beards made from real chinned dwarfs.

We should be able to kill everything in massive numbers and make ornaments out of their body parts. Do this thing old school style.

The best thing that could happen is for a Blight to happen in the Qunari homeland. They won't accept anyone who isn't Qunari into their land so they'll slowly be destroyed from the inside out. Only when they are at the brink of destruction will they be force to allow Grey Wardens into their lands. Once they have to accept a group that isn't a part of their society saves their society they'll be forced to change their views on ultimately wanting/needing to destroy everything that isn't Qunari.

Once that happens I'll have no real problem with them. Sure their immoral for what they do to mages but at least they won't be the automatic enemies to everyone.

I despise the Qunari in every possible way with only a very few exceptions. The fact that we don't get to choose to take the fight to them and give them a taste of their own terribly-illogical "join the Q'un or die" ideology bothers me, and it wouldn't if it weren't for the fact that we get option after option to wipe out Elves and what-not, but never those annoying, shirtless jarheads. Or, hornheads.

In regards to the above post it would be an interesting plot twist to know that the Qunari Homeland is being hit by a Blight. The homeland is so secretive and often isolates its own people if they're sent outside, so maybe, perhaps even without the knowledge of Qunari not in their homeland, there's a Blight going on, and due to their isolation, they're getting wiped out? It'd let our Inquisitors to decide whether to mount a relief force and forcefully open the Qunari to outside contact for their own good, or let them fight on their own as revenge for their warmongering.

Ha! Mage wide extermination will happen in my world, enough with magic, nothing but problems! After that maybe a Qun purification needs to happen, after that it will be my world and well in my world it's all rainbows and candydrops!

The Deep Roads aren't connected to Par Vollen (an island north of Thedas), though. It's essentially impossible for a Blight to break out there. Ogres came from Qunari who ventured to southern Thedas.

Who's to say that the Darkspawn only exist in the Deep Roads in the entire world? For all we know, there could be an Archdemon, Darkspawn, what have you in Par Vollen.
