What would/could be considered the operating system of organic beings (such as humans)?

With this we'd have to assume there is rules of nature we're not privy to?Image IPB

I dunno...I always figured our brains were just big abacus; making our operating system little pebbles on a string.

I don't really know, but it struck me as strange, that the catalyst, via the reaperships, contain the 'essence' of the harvested, so that would have to mean that their operating systems were stored some how (as that goo?, I don't think so, it might contain the/some/most of the 'data' that comprises all those creatures, organic and synthetic alike.) Might explain how Shep can boost the signal or "be" the signal, via the crucible detonation.

All in all, some how the idea of separation of mind and body has evolved in the MEU, entire races live inside computers, organic at one time, all converted to mechanical energy and "living" inside a computer mainframe.

Apparently, the Leviathan figured out the organic intellectual concerns for an operating system that can be "saved"... I wonder who actually resurrected Shepard... and why. (ME4?... nah..lol)

Ahh that reminds me of the glory days playing Privateer, Falcon 3.0 and Master of Orion on my pimped out DOS 5.0 486dx/50. EPIC.

Maybe the DNA sequence or genetic code?

Cells would be the processors running the s/w.

Yeah there's never been a really good explanation for how the organic mind energy jumps the barrier and gets separated from the goo and put into the reaper CPUs.  But the clue is in the way other computers (er, AIs and all) work and what the kid says about Shepard for control.  The "minds" of synthetics are really just data but their brains are their blue boxes.  Taking their data from those boxes changes them.

Shepard was to have his/her thoughts and memories placed into some thing where the catalyst is in residence.

This does not fully explain what is taken from organics and placed within reapers.  There's no real sense that anything resembling a person's actual consciousness resides in reapers.  For all we know it could merely be processing power or raw data such as unemotional memories.  Sort of like a list of things a person has done and then lists of other things like beliefs.  I tend to look at it as like the data people are currently using to create AIs.  Many of them are fed things like what the person they're emulating likes, eats, drinks, and opinions on things and all that.  Sort of like answers or data that Eliza used.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ELIZA

And actually those races living inside computers in the game were built that way, not at all like what we are supposed to believe with the reapers-the transfer of some part of the organic mind to the reaper.  The Leviathans didn't figure out how to do it-their creation did.

There's been many shows on Science and such about just what the mind is (such as, is it the soul or what have you).  Through the Wormhole had a show on it and I've seen others recently.  A lot of discussion on AIs and so far what they're calling AIs are merely computers fed data that are given the (odd) appearance and mannerisms of real people.  They appear to be thinking but it is likely they are programmed to answer in much the same way computerized Customer Service helpdesks have been programmed.  But with way more variety in their answers.
