Ok I'm sure we've all seen the artwork of the Inquistior- love how you can see the face by the way, appears he/she is holding a sword but on the hand are rings

one looked seeker/chantry related

one definitely looked like a templar siget

a glowing red ring

and what looked like a black cross

Maybe symbolizing the paths we can take? seeker/mage/templar/other...??

An Inquisitor, not the player character according to Mary Kirby

First, from the left, is the Seekers of Truth

Third is the Circle of Magi

Last is the Templars

I'm not sure about the second ring. It is inscribed around the edge.

EDIT: There's also one on his thumb.

The thing I noticed more from both pictures is that his helmet and his sword both have a dragons head on it that look like the demon hellspawn dragon that came through the sky when it went boom.

Basically means the Inquisitor is dragonborn

I'm about 99% sure that about a thousand threads just like this one didn't pop up the minute that picture was released.

Yep.

So does the red lyrium ring mean you can side with crazy paranoia?

Silly rabbit, the Dragonborn can only wear one ring.

The glowing one has writing on it if one looks closely. Might be Tevinter.

The rings probably hold some magic power maybe mages will. Magical rings to give them new power.

I heard that wasn't actually the Inquisitor

Where from?

Thematically it fits the Inquisitor, with the possibility that the rings represent the allies he recruits.

I remember a developr saying the image represented the background options. Now that backgrounds have been scrapped in favor of multiple race options, it may be the image has become obsolete.

Don't think so. Bioware won't make you be against Mages.
You will found the Inquisition, but against the demonds and against the tear of the Veil, i would need to see more rings if those were allies. And, what about the allies choices like in DA:O?

Somebody from Bioware said that it was just a random person representing something. I would give you a link but
1. I would fail trying to find it.
2. I'm really really lazy right now.

He has a mage ring, you know.

All possibilities if there are choices would naturally not be represented unless he sprouted a bunch more fingers.

If someone could translate with a bunch of super eyes what is written on the glowing ring, that would be great, thanks.

It's the main antagonist pulling the strings behind everything

Semi-confirmed rumor lol

Thought this was a good idea, but I think it's really difficult to work out the letters because of the red glow. There appears to be an apostrophe after the first letter, which to me suggests it's in Elvish, but the letters I think I have don't seem very elven...

I believe I even see a Greek "pi" in there....

I'll just call it the Greek-Elven-Mage-Ring.

I know which one you mean. I put it as an A or H.

Tevene, is that written in runes? It might be symbolising Tevinter.

That image is not supposed to be the Inquisitor. You, the player, are the Inquisitor, hence the sword (or helmet, depending on the artwork) is being handed to you.
