We are gonna need a scene where Shepard makes an epic speech, fighting such a terrifying foe and all, and it needs to be this.

Oh, and I guess y'all should post any epic motivational speeches that you really like.

Lmao, nice find, I hadn't seen that. I laughed way to loud at the end, "they may never take our... independence day! *free willy jumps over the kid*"

It was really good until the end, then it just got silly.

I would something more along the lines of Mal's speech in Serenity:

"Y'all got on this boat for different reasons, but y'all come to the same place. So now I'm asking more of you than I have before. Maybe all. Sure as I know anything, I know this - they will try again. Maybe on another world, maybe on this very ground swept clean. A year from now, ten? They'll swing back to the belief that they can make people... better. And I do not hold to that. So no more runnin'. I aim to misbehave."

Ick  not at Pitt's speech in the movie but that movie in general. Tarentino just keeps falling further and further in my eyes.

Once Shep has assembled the team I think that this would be the greatest speech to give

- beware, some pretty harsh language :kissing:

In fact, I think that R Lee would be amazing as Shepard's VA :D

If that's silly.. you'll have to hear every speech Mass Effect in italian :P completely emotionless! Only Sovereign's speech is barely acceptable :D (and that's why I play those games in English.. thank god!)
I wonder when EA will employ some serious voice over actors (which can actually ACT properly) instead of emotionless and actingless cartoon voices "actors"

Cartoon voice actors aren't all bad.  In fact, one of the greatest voice actors does a cartoon (Mark Hammil, The Joker in the Batman Animated Series [as well as Arkham Asylum])

Yes I'm sorry I didn't specified.. that group of italian cartoon voice actors are really BAD and Flat :P and the worst part is that they voice over almost all the games that are released here! From Assassin's Creed to Halo to Mass Effect to Dragon Age: Origins to Modern Warfare II and so on.. sooo horrible!

I wonder why they still stick to them.. they literally undervalue a fondamental part of the game.. voice acting! (and that's why I play games in english or prefer to order them abroad, from UK, in case they are not multilanguage)

 Here is the OP's speech:

Will you fight? No. We will run, and we will live. Shame on you. This could be the greatest night of our lives, but you're gonna let it be the worst. And I guarantee a week won't go by in your life you won't regret walkin' out lettin' them get the best of ya. Well, I'm not going home. We've gone to far! And I'm going to stay right here and fight for this lost cause.
A day may come, when the courage of men fails, but it is not this day! The line must be drawn here! This far, no further.

I'm not sayin it's gonna be easy. You're going to work harder than you ever worked before. But that's fine we'll just get tougher winnin'. The person grits his teeth and shows real determination. Failure is not an option! That's how winnin' is done! Believe me when I say, we can break this army here. And win just one. I say to you what every warrior has known since the beginning of time, you've got to get mad! I mean plum Mad Dog mean.

If you would be freemen then you must fight to fulfill that promise! Let us cut out their living guts one inch at a time and they will know what we can do! Let no one forget how menacing we are. We are lions! This is your time, seize the day, never surrender. Victory or death! That's the Chicago way! Who's with me?! Clap! Alright! Let's FLY! And the gentlemen of England shall now abide that my name is the LAW! But I tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they will never take our Independence DAY!!

(cue Free Willy)

Braveheart set the bar for motivational speeches. Captain Kirrahe's speech STILL sends shivers down my spine when I hear it, and it's not even that long. Is Shepherd good with words tho?

I agree.  I prefer to view it's work in it's original intended language.  Even if I can't understand the language at all, I'd rather just read subtitles then to cheapen the experience with bad voice over work.

What about Assassin's Creed II? That must surely be a special case. I'm pretty sure the same actors who voiced the English also voiced it in full Italian?

Well it's not ALWAYS the case that the voice-overs are bad.  It's just really common to have bad VO when it's not the original language.

Bad assumption.. while for the first one they got real arabian speaking people, for the second one they've just picked some americans with italian origins (and the background of supermario) so that it seems like "Super Mario Creed"...
If you think that THAT is Italian, well.. you're completely wrong! Even the pronouncing of dialects is laughable :P becouse it really seems an english speaking person, which has basics of Italian, trying to speak Italian correctly :D but atleast there was some nice acting, even if the italian acting attitude reminded me too much of Super Mario.. expecially when Mario jumps on you saying "It's-a-me! Mario!".. I almost fell off my couch :D
So that's why they were not the ones that did the Italian voice overs.. as for now Assassin's Creed II is the only 50% Lose - Lose game out there regarding voice overs ^^
