 i heard people being afraid and even confident of that for a while now - it always made me laugh - ME3 is an EA topseller title! 
and like with all the other more recent EA topseller titles i remember of right now, its online support won't be shut down within its first 4-5 years i'm sure!

I dont agree or disagree with your statement. Meaning I wrote the word "assume" as it is an assumption. The assumption is only based on the fact that they are making a new game so once that game is out usually the previous title, depending on the base playing it, may get shut down. Examples are the Halo multiplayer games. If the servers stay on for 4-5 more years well thats a great thing. I am fine with either already having the knowledge that they are working on something new.

I admit it would be amazing if as a final DLC to give some form of kit customiser (character - powers/dodge/melee), before ME4 gets released and/or the servers are taken offline.

Isn't it much more likely that we get some kind of SP "Arrival" DLC to connect ME4 with ME3?
I mean, why should EA give some 1000 die hard fans free content for a 3 year old game? They don't even use this game engine anymore.
A SP DLC we have to pay for or more likely shutting down the ME3MP servers and giving out ME4MP beta keys for preordering ME4 just makes so much more sense.

How's about a rerun of the challenges?

Cause I've got a few that I missed.due to some badly timed weekends away.

Or, and I've been asking for this for ages.

A Blasto difficulty mode. Where every enemy is a Hanar with a regular mob's skill set. It'll be tough trying to figre out which one's need killing first and which one's are the heavy armoured ones when they all look the same.

Are there any numbers on how many players still play?
I would have thought well more than a thousand.

PS3 probably no chance, but don't 360 publish most popular LIVE games occasionally, and ditto PC, an estimate from number of games or something?

Nah, your news is more recent than mine. I'd just read a few things on the internet and somewhat believed them.

Not sure how I feel about that, Inquisition not having an MP, I mean. It's cool that they're working diligently on the game, but I was kind of expecting a new BW-MP experience to tide me over until Next Effect's.

Oh well...still a day one buy. It just makes it all the stranger that BW would dump ME3 when the next installment is so far off.
