I wonder if the new dragon is Morrigan's child?

I doubt a dragon is born the size of a human child.

True. Dragonlings are the size of deer. Morrigan must have been huge if the Old God Child was a dragon. And cranky.

Don't forget High Dragons are female too.

Well, what's worse, an angry but still mortal mother dragon, or an ambitious she-witch who's got a kid with the soul of an ancient dragon in her gut?

I guess no one has seen a movie about demonology? Angel? Buffy? How about science-fiction? Diana Troi getting pregnant by a tiny firefly sized alien? Morrigan's child is an old 'god', right?

I'm terribly confused.

I don't know. I don't think it will be Morrigan. I suspect she will be a benevolent force in the game (what I want...is unimportant now).

I suspect it will be someone we don't know yet, in-game. People keep assuming this is a trilogy, and thus that DA is building up to some big climax. It's not.

Rosemary's Baby, anyone?

*nods*

When it comes to dark-fantasy and dark-fairy tales, I think people forget they contain supernatural and demonic elements. I love the "Dragon Age: Origins" story, for it reminds me of the movie "Legend".

Why can't Morrigan's godlike child take any form it wants? Before the old god was in Morrigan's womb, he was originally in the body of a dragon. Morrigan's child could have the ability to take the shape of a dragon.

Well, I just don't know yet. Having a certain soul doesn't essentially guarantee magical abilities, does it? Or am I missing something? Because all Dragon Age is really talked about souls is that if a Warden and an Archdemon's souls meet, they collide and destroy each other. However, we haven't been told if the soul determines personality, abilities or anything, outside of the Archdemon's command of the Horde.

Or did I just answer my own question?

We can speculate, right?

Morrigan's child is: (1) an old god, (2) born from a witch, and (3) born from a demigod in dragon form.

Can two magical beings create a non-magical being?

When you describe Morrigan's child, you cannot do so without using the word 'god'.

Heck, his father is a 'demigod'.

I wish this were canon. Unfortunately, The Gaider has denied us that.

Ummm... It was one of "Dragon Age: Origins" endings; therefore, I think they can implement the concept without a problem. Morrigan also hinted to this in the teaser.

I know that. I performed the dark ritual. I'm saying that I wish it were canon that Morrigan had the OGB with or without our Warden (or Alistair), especially after the teased sixth Blight in the Anderfels. Since it is essentially a minor and insignicant plot detail now, I doubt the writers will take full advantage of it.

Since we're going to apparently be the survivor of ground zero for the demon invasion and veil tear, it's likely we will get introduced to the villian during whatever event put us smack dab in the middle of the bad crap happening.

I think we will see the main bad, who may personally engage the player and wipe the floor with them before leaving, and than thoughout the game we will be given hints as to who the main bad is, what their goals are, and get a mid-game rematch before we rinse and repeat, and prepare for the final battle.

The only support I find for Sandal being the Maker is his "prophecy" in DA2. Considering that Dragon Age 2 is essentially the story of Hawke filtered through Varric's storytelling, perhaps Varric is the Maker. Or neither one of them is the Maker and the prophecy was a simple in-joke by the writers.

This is the only post  on the BSN that I can remember ever having made me laugh. Or rather, that weird sudden-exhale-through-nose, which is close enough. Why is this important? I'm not quite certain.

Hopefully it's not Flemeth (I'm not in any hurry for a DA game without Kate Mulgrew). But I don't have much idea as to what she's truly up to; it's a bit worrying.

Other than being relatively certain it won't be Morrigan, I really don't know what to expect. I suppose it's going to be somebody, but who?

I seem to recall David saying he sat around trying to think up some gibberishy prophecy that would roughly make sense as to what they have planned for the future.

Sandal himself probably won't have any huge importance (I think they've said in the past that the way he comes across is not something they're necessarily proud of, so I don't think he was ever intended to be a critical figure).

That would be nice, if the battles aren't contrived a la Kai Leng.

It's a powerful intelligent dragon once worshipped by Thedas idolators. It's not a world creating spirit.

I hope the main antagonist isn't another demon or possessed fool.

I'd like someone who's motives aren't simple "I'm evil", like the archdemon or "I'm possessed".

Although I wouldn't mind Flemeth, Janeway was my favorite Star Trek villain.

And maybe Alistair is actually Andraste reborn. Even the people who worshipped the Old Gods didn't believe they created the world.

Anything is possible, in the broadest of senses. But there's been nothing to suggest that possibility. There's more to suggest there is no Maker than that the Old Gods are creators.
