Who the hell is the Orlesian Warden? Never played the DLC, so it's completely irrelevant for me and having some random Warden coming up and being all "lol ur character" would be so lame.

Naw id rather they be doing their own thing. Unless its absolutely necessary for them to be back then I suppose. I'd like for their LI's or someone to say something about them though. I hated that zevran didn't even mention my warden at all.

And my suggestion is not that they are PCs.  Did you even read it?  They wouldn't be PCs anymore than Morrigan and Varric where PCs when you took control over their characters in game.

That's a horrible idea

What's a horrible idea?  Was playing Morrigan or Varric a horrible idea in those games mentioned.  Did it take away your experience and lessen your enjoyment?  It added to mine.

You left your warden having defeated the Blight.

That was the end of their story. Expansions and DLC are not the story.

Whaa?   What about DA2 where is says that the Warden and Hawke's disappearance is no coincidence?  But that couldn't possibly happened because, as you said, the Warden's story ended after defeating the blight.  So he couldn't have possibly disappeared.  So sequels, including this next one, are not the story.

As for the whole "slap a helmet on" that everyone loves, MY Warden/Hawke would NEVER wear a helmet.

What's this whole "slap a helmet on to hide their face coming from"?  Didn't you even read the post?  You guys aren't even reading the post if your stating that.

Why do so many people think the warden and Hawke will be in it? I don't think they will and I don't want them to be. I want references to what kind of person they were and what they did, sure but not a cameo.

Hawke probably died from falling down the stairs like the failure she is and is now a mummified corpse.

If they happen to make an appearance in the game (I actually don't care but prefer that they don't), Bioware should just let players recreate them

But the Warden (if alive) should have... I really don't know what he/she should be wearing

Hawke should just wear the Armor of the Champion

"People disappearing not being a coincidence" doesn't necessarily mean that they had some intention in doing so. For all we know it means that someone ELSE had some intention. And, for all we know, it actually is a coincidence, which makes most sense.

Importing characters over a series of games is part of Bioware's legacy.  That and great story telling and making choices. It what made them the best video game company several years back.   At least they were that way.  Making the Dragon Age series into a each stand alone game with no continuity or consequence is unlike them. Especially since it is a series and, not only are you not carrying over your protagonists, but your decisions are having no effect.

Well, seeing as how they've already done it for two games, what makes you think the next one will be any different?

Neither of them are characters I played as or built up in my head through role playing over the course of dozens of hours.  Not being PCs, they would have to conform to some preset personality that is probably nothing like the one I worked up for my game.

Its asking for a lot of disappointment from the vast majority of the fanbase.

What you suggest in the OP is not to treat them like Morrigan and Varric's, but to treat them as PCs.  Complete with customization.  So no, it's never going to happen.

Hawke would be easier to get away with a cameo.

I definitely down want the Warden to reappear unless I control him...maybe in a special dlc

I really have no interest in seeing the Warden,m Warden-Commander or Hawke. I am far more interested in the new protagonist. I see no reasons to waste resources on recreating Hawke and/or the Warden as NPCs. Maybe somewhere down the line if Dragon Age continues we may find out what happened to them in a codex or maybe one of the new protagonists in future games finds their bodies and learns how they died. I would be fine with that closure.

We don't need any of this. Dragon Age is not the story of Hawke. Dragon Age is not the story of the Warden.

Dragon Age is the story of Thedas, and presumably the Dragon Age, though they may go beyond.

The Warden's story is over. He or she does not need to appear. We already have enough "closure."

Hawke's story is over. He or she does not need to appear. We already have enough "closure."

No NPCs:  The main gripe that everyone seems to agree to

Nope, idgaf.

Well honestly, I would prefer to play as them again if they show up, but I'm not gonna write 20 threads complaining about it if they show up as NPCs.

And if they do show up as NPCs, mage Hawkes should totally wear the Malcolm's Bequest armor set. That apostate mask is the ****, it's fitting reminder of the theme of Hawke's family, and it avoids having to show their face.

Between that and the Mantle of the Champion, those seems like good choices

My Warden is dead...why? Because HERO, that's why.

And Hawke is no one, DA2 was an elaborate prank.

Yes, it is?

You didn't have to import your Bhaalspawn, but you certainly could continue them (though continuity was really limited to having Drizzt's items on you when you imported). The transfer to ToB was automatic and preserved nearly everything. And the best way to play HotU was to import from SoU (though I can't remember what, if any, plot variables transferred over). (You could use your NWN character to start SoU, but it wasn't really recommended.)

It's true that you weren't necessarily expected or even able to import your world state every single time, but they've designed their games to allow you to bring characters forward from near the very beginning.
