i'm with ya, kris. played and modded that game for 3 years. though it's a completely different kind of RPG than DA:O is, and I love both.
Unfortunately, I don't see another morrowind style game in the future. The industry and "gaming consumer" landscape has changed so much. I kind of see Morrowind as Bethesda's last labor of love before they got surpassed by corporate gaming and forced to make console-friendly fluff like Oblivion or Fallout 3.
Not to mention the masses of MW2-loving droolers just don't appreciate games like that anymore. It's why even DA:O is considered "niche". And to survive nowadays making niche games, you either need a LOT of backing or a lot of backBONE.

That game is even worse than Mass Effect!

Oblivion was indeed a horrendous disappointment after Morrowind, but I felt Fallout 3 did a better job of living up to Morrowinds standards, although it is sadly still lumbered with some of the console-friendly 'improvements'. but to answer your question, I can't think of any other game really like Morrowind. it's a shame, despite it's flaws (many of which were addressed by the insanely huge modding scene) it was probably the most addictive game I've ever played

Try Arx Fatalis. It is similar to Morrowind and came out around the same time. I think it's only like 5 dollars from Direct2drive.
I have the Xbox version but the PC version is supposed to be better.

I loved Morrowind. Everything but the blasted cliff racers. But do I want to see alot more games like it? No. But one or two more that are even half as good, I certainly wouldn't object to.

I don't understand what you people have against multi-console games.

Seeing all those blasted cliff racers lying broken and butchered at my feet made my heart cry with joy.

Heh, I eventually started grumbling at the game everytime I heard their squawking, then began flailing my dai-katana around my head.Nattfare wrote...

I enjoyed Morrowind for the story and NPC's, but the gameplay was horrid. I can only slash and slash and slash so much before I get bored.
And to whomever insulted MW2 loving gamers, I enjoy it AND RPG's as well, thank you very much!
