 So, I just unlocked the Venom I, and after quickly giving it a whirl, first with my Kroguard, than the VorSent and finally Turian Soldier...I have to say I was massively unimpressed. I tested it out Silver/Cerberus and Silver/Reaper, and I found it to be sorely lacking on standard fire as well as the secondary. So, I used the Eviscerator vs both factions/Silver and I felt a huge difference between the two.

With that, does anyone else feel that way with the Venom I ? Let me be clear here, I do not "hate" the Venom, it merely feels grossly underpowered for a UR, is this my feeling only or does anyone else come to this conclusion as well?

Takes some getting used to. But once you get the hang of it, it is lots of fun. And it is quite a powerful weapon.

I did a gold solo when I got it to X and it was surprisingly easy. It teared Cerberus a new one, the gun is much better than I initially gave it credit for (much better than the Eviscerator). I even tried it off host and found it did ok, although its not a weapon I would feel comfortable with off host and a dodgy connection.

I hated the Venom when I first unlocked it as well. Now it's one of my favorite shotguns. The learning curve for me was quite large, maybe the largest for any gun in the game. The only advice I can give is keep using it and figure out a good setup for it. The links posted will help guide you better than I can. IMO when it comes to the venom vs the eviscerator, it's no contest, the venom wins easily.

and now the BSN shall have a 15 page discussion where half of us think the Venom is terrible and not even useful as garbage while the other half think it's the greatest weapon ever and will deliver us to the promise land.

Played it enough to get the shotgun and reckoning challenges. It's useful against mooks, though I prefer the scorpion, striker or falcon. Maybe if I get it unlocked to X instead of it's current position at IV I'll like it a bit better.

I like it and not just cause I like seeing We R Venom2099 [venom] in the kill feed. Once you get a feel for this gun it's a lot of fun. Just spend some more time getting a handle on how it works and try it on different builds before u judge it.
