Thank you!
But seriously, the trick to the gun OP is to not use it like a normal shotgun and don't put it on weapon classes. Put incendiary or disruptor rounds on it, charge it, aim for the feet, and detonate with a power. It's not the most effective weapon for me but it is definitely a lot of fun.

I'm sure I have no idea what these 'atrocities' are that you're referring to.victoriakm wrote...

Venom BatSol = Stunlock kingpin.
Both are fun, most recently I've really been into the Venom BatSol. Venom + BB = such stunlock that even geth are jelly of your stunlock power.
It has a learning curve... the arc of the projectile, the pattern of the micro explosions and getting them to hit. It also takes concious changes to gameplay to stop aiming at the enemies, and start aiming at their feet, behind them at a wall, the ceiling to toss the micro explosions downward, banking off the side of a wall, shooting next to the enemy in cover, etc.

I love the Venom, but abhor the Claymoar. Haven't liked it since ME2.
It just a play style preference. I've given the Claymoar a legitimate try many times, but always go back to just...meh. It doesn't suit my play style.

But quite a few people I've played with, and know are good players really like it and say it is awesome.
I'm going to take their word for it.

Unfortunately, I think the Venom is going to be like the Claymoar. It's a gun you either love or hate.

It takes me approximately two second to make a Prime die. It's not the weapon, it's the user and the way they are using it.Cassandra Neptune wrote...

That's a pretty good way to put it Swarlos. It's not for weapons classes... It's a casters weapon.

In fact, it would be kinda nice to ping one with the venom, while it has a scorpion sticky on it and watch it pop in the air.....like a firework....hmm, wonder if you can switch weapons fast enough?

The Acolyte is much better weapon for casters.
The same AoE stagger, but 5x shield damage and 200% cooldown.
Why should I change it for heavy weight, low damage Venom?

There are not a lot of weapons that can trivialise geth the way venom can.zxKittenpuncher wrote...

Is this weapon just different on PC or is the master race too stupid to use it? It completely trivializes all humanoid size targets and cheeses the crap out of bosses with appropriate powers.MasterReefa wrote...

...low damage Venom? Why do people insist on perperuating the myth that Venom is a "low damage weapon"? I mean, yeah, it is not the highest damage weapon in the game, but according to Cyonan's spreadsheet the venom does crusader level damaeg amd I hope we will all agree that the only good thing about the crusader is its damage. Venom has plenty of "horsepower" under the hood in addition to ignoring armor damage reduction and shield gating. People make such a fuss about the venom damage; its almost like saying that typhoon "sucks balls" or "revenant is better than typhoon".
It's a "lower damage" weapon for two main reasons:
1. It can't get headshots
2. It can't pierce which means against a good number of units, it can't benefit from the bug that lets you hit 2-3 times per shot
The best thing about the Crusader is that it has natural piercing, which means you can add HVB or Shredder mods without suffering damage loss.
