My guess (apart from - ehm - the Inquisition ) would be Fen'Harel, the trickster. And my guess who Fen'Harel is in the game would be: Flemeth. Or maybe Flemeth is Dumat and Morrigan is Fen'Harel. The reason being that I do think both Morrigan and Flemeth indeed do have their own agenda....

Anyone else thinks Sandal is going to be big in the next game?
Doesn't David Gaider dislike Sandal?

Maybe I just wish that Gaider hated Sandal, so we could see less of him.

Decades and centuries of hubris - of greed, selfishness, fear. Just a domino effect of small and large events cascading into one another, and no one really jumping in early enough to shift the tides. So Veils are severed, prisons are breached, and what's let loose is too difficult to control and maintain.
There will probably be some big bad at the heart or it, maybe calling the shots now that chaos reigns, but I don't think there was one singular entity/individual as the cause.
I hope their is not one entity behind the cause, because that would be a cop out.
One person/entity taking advantage of the chaos to further their own agenda, okay, but one entity being behind everything, not okay.
We know that the mage templar war have been brewing for a thousand years. We know that Fereldan and Orlais have perfectly good human reasons for both their current conflicts internal as external between them.
One thing masterminding the cause, would be such a major cop out, and I have faith it that bioware is better than that.

I just hope it won't be extremist mages "We can't be free, so NO ONE SHALL, MWAHAHAHA!"
Either Mark Darrah or Mike Laidlaw said that the game doesn't force a particular opinion of magic on the player, so I am assuming that the enemy is more complex than angry mages.
My money is still on the Grey Wardens. Or at least I think they have some involvement as an antagonistic force.

I suspect it's some elf or group of elves because nobody would ever suspect them.KC_Prototype wrote...
At the end of DA2, Varric and Cassandra were discussing who caused all of this. Seeing the setup for DA:I know, got me thinking, who's fault is is that put the entire land into total war and catastrophe? Was is Anders? Hawke? The Mages or Templars? Who?
