respect what everyone else gets out of the game. not a lot to ask is it?

It is on BSN. Many here can't stand dissenting or alternate opinions. In a way I'm glad the IT thread got locked and IT got banned from these forums. Many on BSN do not have the maturity level or ability to discourse in a critical and effective way enough for true investigatory theories of the narrative of Mass Effect. Shame. But it is, what it is.

Dissenting yes, stupid? No.

unlike you.  Enjoy the fail train when you grow up.  So an opinion is stupid because it doesnt tie in with your failed ending logic?

Its stupid because you don't have a shred of evidence other than crack pot theories and circumstantial details. I said this already, but yeah okay "opinion"

If you want to believe IT happend for your own character and ignore everything that's contrary to it, then that's your own fan-fiction, have at it. If you want to try and pass it off as an alternative to the actual ending, and tell people they should think of it that way, then its no longer your personal preserve and your going to be criticised for it.

The Normandy was leaving scene

Before the Normandy had a chance to leave the scene it had to have arrived first.

As for Harbinger focussing on Shepard... why? Singling out Shepard is about as smart as dissecting the brains of lottery winners looking for psychic ability. This fallacy is known as "hypothesis suggested by the data" and one of the more basic mistakes in the book, and Harbinger making such a basic mistake is another plothole.

shared memories, but that's neither here nor there (maybe there, but I don't know yet)

and then theres TIM, Shepard & Anderson on the Citadel.  Oily Shadows that do not indicate indoctrination but something far more eye opening.  and it's all there in the opening crawl of mass effect one.

So when did your indoctrination start? Because LotSB hints at the Crucible.

Interesting. Explain please.

The hint is pretty subtle. If you talk to Liara on the base after the mission is complete, she mentions all the stuff he knew about the Protheans, the Collectors, and that there might be something more that he was looking into.

Oh I am well aware of that conversation I just pretend it never happened in my Shepard's story and The Crucible never existed.

You see this ^  This, dorktainian. Is fine.

There is a difference between trying to turn establishd concepts into opinion, because you have no proof that your point has any weight, Ipso Facto, opinions don't require weight, hence calling things opinion allows IT to be used as it has no weight.

Same thing that creationists do. Call things opinion so they can question it with no proof.

A crackpot theory is just as valid as a well thought out theory in as far as they are both theory.

Opinions are like ****s. Everyones got one.  Myself included.  Whether that turns out to be correct or not - well time will tell.  Will I be disappointed if it isnt correct?  err......nope.

It's just a game.

The worse thing about IT is that it produced retarded haters.
And that is really the problem with a lot of things in life, retarded haters.

the irony is the ITers see something great in the ending and are castigated (see that fishboy - thats a big word) for it, whereas the haters seem to have free reign.  Oh well.

You talk about proof Billy?  How about this then?

That is all the proof within game I need matey.  It's all over the place and it has one really significant meaning.

it's batsh!t crazy, but it makes perfect since. But dem silly fish didn't take into cosideration one thing. One annomaly. one 'superior coded' entitiy. The catalyst. The Shepard.

But he's got to get roughed up a bit. He's got to get vetted, tested. Because he can take it because it's always been about Shepard.

No one has ever made it to the 'crucible'- becasue no one singular entity as been that 'agent of change' that the crucible needs. No one has passed the test and no one has made it to the final test, of wills and beliefs- The crucible if you will.

But shepard can.

"Every Soldier has scars. But Shepards a survivor".

"Is that the kind of person we want protecting the galaxy"

"That's the only kind of person who can protect the galaxy"

Fun, fun.

Shep gets shot by a Reaper laser (the same kind that turns you to pulp on Rannoch) and gets up ten seconds later.
Harbinger buggers off for no reason.
A retreat is called despite the strict 'no retreat' order and the fact that there is no more Reapers defending the beam.
The beam itself luckily takes Shep to exactly where needed.
The Reapers are apparently harvesting mannequins.
Anderson gets there after Shep but manages to get ahead despite there being one walkway.
TIM appears out of thin air with biotic superpowers.
TIM can now magically control Shep and Anderson and Reaper horns sound when he uses his new superpowers.
Convenient raised circle for Shep and Anderson to lean on.
Shep now luckily lands on the magic elevator.
The catalyst appears in the form of the boy from Sheps head.
They then proceed to use a giant battery to spread space magic throughout the galaxy

All this really happened and is simply a result of bad writing, despite all that came before. Take this opinion and people dont mind.

Suggest that there might be something else going on with the ending, and you're a tin foil hat wearing, delusional crack pot.

All praise bad writing, for it is the way forward.

Personally the MEHEM is my true ending. I don't care what anyone says. lol! But this thread is helping me realize that the main people who seem to have the biggest issue with IT are those who simply hate the endings and think they are poorly written rubbish. IMO, it seems as though they think IT somehow invalidates their own opinion. It doesn't.

Telling people to respect your opinion then going on to tell them that they just can't accept that your own opinion of the ending is the real truth is not cool. And please stop the bickering.

That is like saying the crackpot theory that a cosmic easter bunny farted out the solar system is just as valid as nebular theory, which would be astoundingly false.

I just feel that ginner dave was right the writing is that bad. I'm a pro-ender. It could have been better but we got what we got and I except it but I can understand people making things to fix it and justify it. I have viewed MEHEM and I didn't think it was half bad. As far as IT goes for me it is a bit far fetched but if it makes people feel better about it I'm not going to rip on it.

I agree, I actually didn't hate the endings myself. I pick destory and move on, but I just love the MEHEM because Shep's comrades save him for once and he's reunited with Kaidan.

Many wanted the end to be something out of Return of the Jedi. I was glad when it didn't end that way but people want to be satisfied. MEHEM and IT are ok. But I choose the end canon the way that it was written because that was the way they chose to end it. I'm ok with the way the game ends but even I will tell you they should have made things more clear from the beginning.

all we seek is clarification. thats all we've ever wanted. yes we have vocal people on our side, but there are just as many vocal people who absolutely hate the ending and do not want to think past what they see... which is confusing.

Now I for one hope all of us can get in some way what we all want and deserve. clarification.

either way. and then move on at last.
