So I made some bad decisions throughout Origins (which is part of the fun in my opinion). I killed Loghain, rejected Morrigan's ritual (even though I had slept with her before my Leliana romance), and I made Anora marry Alistair. Problem was that the only way for me to survive, having rejected Morrigan's offer, was to kill Alistair and I couldn't really do that so I sacrificed myself.
Here's the deal though. At the same time, I want to play Awakening and Witch Hunt but since my character is dead...is it even worth it? My understanding is that my choices in those expansions wouldn't even import to DAII.

You have two options:
1. If you're willing to "handwaiver" the fact you're Warden should be dead but isn't, you can still import him/her as if they never died.
2. Start a new character in Awakening, you will be a different Orlesian Grey Warden who has come to take over as Commander of the Grey. NPCs will react to you different then they would an imported Warden. (They will be suspicious of you)
Some of your decisions from Awakening and Witch Hunt do import into DA2, though you may not see some of it because of import bugs. There are some specific ones but I can't really elaborate without spoilers.
For Witch Hunt I'm honestly not sure, I've always imported previous characters. I'm guessing that making a new character would be the Orlesian Warden looking for Morrigan or something.

I can tell this: i have imported quite a few saves into awakening,
but none of the saves have completed origins.
So: Whenever you have a save that you think are of sufficient level,
strip your companions of any items you want to import,
also make sure to have a grandmaster flame & lightning rune with you in inventory.
If you plan on doing GoA after awakening, also bring a couple of brilliant crystals,
and lastly, if you want some extra omph, dress up in items that dont transfer before making the [import for awakening] save, as well as have shales stone aura active at the time you make the [import for awakening] save.
These will all transfer as integrated parts of your avatar.

I think what you are getting at is that if you start Awakenings with a new, Orlesian warden, then your Origin choices will not be imported.
This is correct, it did indeed cause rather an uproar when it first came out, and yes it does completely suck.
So yeah, you can either kiss goodbye to your Origin choices or your warden can be conveniently and inexplicably brought back to life.
Or you could skip Awakenings and the other post-Origins DLC entirely and import your Origin game directly into DA2...?
Or you could replay.
