I always knew i was going to buy DAI simply because i liked the other 2 and i will still be buying DAI regardless this is just a small irk of mine i guess

The one worry/itch i have is the character creator, every game without fail that i have played of bioware's i have had to download mods to help with the chracter design simply because i found the character creators lacking in everything from hairstyle to eye color to make up to scars to tattoo's, everything for me in the character creator lacked and i was lucky enough to be able to d/l and install mods that helped in that aspect.

Now moving in to FB3 and problems with modding or something, im just wondering and hoping if wee can have a really good character creator plz, show it some love guys you know you want to ;)

Now it wont bother me (much) if the character creator lacks per usual (just my opinion) i'll still pick the game up since it aint no game breaker so to speak, just hoping some extended love n care can see its way into it is all :P

thnxz for reading my wee day in the life of a bothersome itch stay tuned for more :P

I thought DAO was fine. This is more of a mass effect problem for me.

Weeeeeell.... maybe.

One of the issues is that there's only so much space consoles can hold. They're developing for current gen and next gen at the same time, which means primarily developing for current gen, with its steep hardware and memory limitations, so they can't make much use of next gen improvements beyond say, graphical enhancements.

Yep i have never been able to create a good male face character in any Bioware game so it would be good if they give us the tools to do so in DAI.

I find DAO better than the ME IP and DA2, but in my opinion  it wasn't that good either.

I'm fine with DAO chara creator, I'd rather let BW team work on other things than hairstyle and such.

I agree with the OP it would be nice to have more options in CC and not be "restricted" to a few features

Yeah but at least I could make some male and female PC and go 'Yeah, they look attractive or tough or scary'. Making a pc in ME usually ends with me hating their face with a passion.

I do not need my Inquisitor looking like a cartoonish buffoon.

The faces I made in DA2 had bugs when the character started talking (especially when smiling). The internal "skeleton" in the face clipped through the bottom lip. So my Hawkes had to have very protruding chins to counter the problem.

So: make the CC good please, but also make sure faces will work properly when animated.

^This. I thought the Saint's Row creator was pretty restrictive actually, or maybe I was doing it wrong. But I found my PC either looked pretty much the same, or looked like he had a birth defect. Much like MaleShep really. And also much like MaleShep there are about 3 haircuts that are passable and don't look like a glued-on mess of a rug. ME3 was a bit of an improvement (massively so for FemShep)

The things that really niggle me are the details like unnatural-looking hairlines, sideburns not lining up properly with facial hair, weird spreads of hair at the nape/neck, etc. It looks unnatural to the point where I'd prefer manga style, not that I'm suggesting that's right for Bioware games. And the eyebrows! Please no more weird, wonky eyebrows. FemShep looked like she'd gone at them with a Bic until ME3. And I apologise for comparing DA to ME but I think it's pertinent; as DA graphic improve, they're going to be much less forgiving of those little details. I think if Inquisition improves character customisation as much as, say, Skyrim did for the ES series, it'll be greatly appreciated.

TL/DR: I'd like to be able to create a PC that looks as polished as the major characters so that he/she doesn't look out of whack.

You're wrong in assuming Saints Row only has joke options. It's one of the best ones I've seen and people still complain about it.

They're never going to be able to create enough options to make everyone happy. Obviously more options wouldn't be a bad thing though.

Yeah, I will say, there are always too few options of every slider. Not enough eye shapes, nose shapes, mouth shapes, hair styles, beard styles, etc.

More of everything please!

Most of us, especially those of us who have played the games, know that there are more than the joke options. And yes, there are a ton of options in their CC. However, that doesn't change the fact that your character still looks very cartoony. It's not a style I want in DA.

While I don't think this is necessarily the way to go either, I do endorse the idea of having something more along the lines of the Dragon's Dogma CC.

I agree with an improved character creator, but I'd also like to see opportunities to change your look in-game - similar to the Black Emporium, but actually part of the game.

I don't care if my character has to rob every NPC blind to get the gold to pay for it; just let us go to a Barber (ala Dragon's Dogma), if we're not happy with our character.

There's nothing worse than having to sit through cutscenes with a pc whose appearance makes you cringe. Image IPB

It's definitely not their first priority (I think), but it's still very nice to have good options in the character creator. I have a feeling that DAI's will be better than the previous entries' generators.

An improved character creator would be great, but at the very least, all I ask is that the lighting in the CC be closer to the lighting in the game. So many times I thought I had a great looking PC and then in the light of day... Remember that Butter Face joke Zevran told?

BW CC always lacked in options. Ive had psp games from 5+ years ago do better with CCs and they run on ps2 powered system... They need options on par with Saints Row the 3rd at least. One of the few Western styled games I can name off hand that has great customization and its not even an RPG!

Race(If of color, yr options were VERY limited), hair styles, features, body types, no customizing armor, voice, etc...

Actually, I think having a proper cc is important for Inquisition, specially if they intend to use player agency as one it's selling points. Being able to make unique looking characters that also look as good as the companions is a must imo.

The Origins cc was decent, but there is a lot more room for improvement. The sliders are always going to feel limited and the players will never feel like there is enough choice, but I think it is more important to have more features we can manipulate. Such as mouth shapes, scars, freckles, having a blind eye or even things like earrings, and necklaces. I'm not saying they have to add all this, and I know some things could mess with the facial animations, just consider what might be a good adition to the game.

I've said this several times but I want the Incarna character creator from EVE Online. Aside from that there are many other ccs the devs can look at to take some ideas, Dragon's Doma seems pretty good and so is the one on Saints Row. The so loved by devs and piblishers Skyrim also has some features Inquisition could use. The Sims 3 also has a lot to learn from, for example, if the inquisitor is ever going to stand around shirtless a body hair option can't be that hard to implemet.

And try not no make all males bodybuilders this time, at least for elves and/or mages, please.

edit: And yes, a ingame barber would be nice, changing the hairstyle of the charactes as his/her position in society changes seems right. Also, the makeup.

I prefer the DAII CC over Origins

With that said, I do hope they'll release a demo of Inquisition, I'd really be happy :)

about Saints Row 4 Character Creator One of the new cool things they added, you can change the tone of voice
