This thread is inspired by the "Surprise" DLC thread. Although I think that is unrealistic, having a few more weekend operations should take a lot less effort (assuming they still have the people who ran them) and may rekindle a bit of interest through to ME4 release.
I'm not suggesting it should happen regularly, but on a few specific occasions it could be quite fun and build hype for ME4. Perhaps the next anniversary, N7 day (whatever that was), and maybe six months out from ME4 release. Make them community events and be creative with the rewards and punishments. Change up the wave compositions for those weekends.
Would that interest anyone?

They could slap in multiple hard/funny challenges to complete in N7 HQ. I believe Crimson Vanguard had an awesome thread full of those.
