Image IPBOkay, just curious here, Who thinks the Paragon/Renegade System(I refer to it as P/R from now on) is vastly improved from ME1. I mean look at ME one, most Renegade decisions were just flatout err.."jerk" like and some Paragon decisions quiet douchey. I always found in my RPing playthrough's not having enough point to be considered to be a real paragon or renegade.

But now in ME2 is seems everything is different, especially with the introduction of the interrupt system. Some of the renegade decisions seems less "jerk" like and more like renegade if anything, and the Paragon seem more Paragon. For example, from E3 footage we could push a merc out of a window because he was being a moron and stalling on Shepard. A renegade would just push him off and just go on with the mission. Then there is paragon footage that was recently released where you could simply just turn of the tv with your omni-tool or renegade just shoot them out.

To me P/R system seem less like a a Good vs. Evil system and more of of what it is a P/R system.

So what is your opinion on the system from subsquent game footage released.

This is one of those elements that'll have to wait on having some play time to make a decision on. I haven't seen enough to decide whether it's improved, but it certainly seems like the choices may be more involving.

What I don't like is that you can't be "evil"/renegade and have a silver tongue. What if I want to charm all of the minor obstacles in my way just to be charming and then make my renegade decision?

Charming people in ME1 was essentially playing ball with them, like the corporate guy on Feros.  Charm was just telling NPCs how to get what they want by you getting what you want.  I feel like all of the sultry Shepards are missing out on a particular option.  Perhaps there should be one Charm stat, but two choices available, one for renegade and one for paragon.

I don't know what else to suggest.  I just don't like having my character pigeonholed.  After playing Fable, I have a dislike for the idea that evil means scarring (although my understanding is there is a chance to heal in ME2, but I haven't seen an official source).  I would hate to see Bioware suggest that players can only be reasonable or ruthless,  never deceitful or charming in a non-business sense.
