Titan quest was one of the best slashers imo. Soulstorm was good as well. Good luck with ending thing.

I guess you heard that wrong. Bioware is still looking for a Lead Writer for the next Mass Effect.

That's strange. You would have thought he'd be a shoe in for lead writer given how they responded after the fiasco. I will pay monies for Karpyshyn.

You really want Karpyshyn as the lead writer, the man who released all those unnecesary tie-in novels and pretty much canonized a franchise that prouds itself with having no official "canon"? He is the reason for all those retcons, including the ME1 choice about picking a single councilor.

Wasn't Mass Effect meant to be a multiple medium franchise from the get go? The first novel was released before the first game. Sure, retcons are no fun, but I think that's something that will happen when you have lots of people working on the project PLUS setting overly ambitious goals that they couldn't fulfill. In any case, I liked the direction ME was going when he was involved in the project.

I want William C. Diez :P wow that joke was so bad i couldn't let it go.

Oh, I just read those bulletin points for the career opportunity:

" • Have a great understanding and ability to tell stories, write scripts, find character voice and maintain consistency across the project."
Why do I feel this one is directed at Mac's flaws?

Anyway, this makes me very excited for ME4!

All BioWare has to do is just make Patrick Weekes the lead writer and keep hold of Dombrow, Mass Effect 4 will be in good hands no matter who else is involved.
Sorry but Mac can go on a sabbatical for a bit, maybe let him focus full time on writing half-baked comic strips as it seems to be his narrative tool of choice for Mass Effect lately.

I think Mac would still be a good lead writer.

He would just need to be allowed to be Mac Walters.. the one who wrote the more seedy, outlaw elements of the MEU, like Zaeed and Aria. The vigilantes like Garrus and bounty hunters like Wrex. What a missed opportunity. they get the guy who wrote all of this to be the lead, but probably twisted his arm into writing a more Alliance centric story. With transhumanist/singularity space magic, at that. He didn't do a bad job (imho), but I don't think it's the kind of stuff that made him entertaining before. If you get a person as a lead, they should be free to do what they're good at - and I don't think he was.

It's hard to believe it's all on one person's head. Games of this scope must have a lot ignorant meddlers involved.
