The Little Mermaid when King Triton told off Ariel. Had to hide in the bath for that scene.

Weirdly, I loved nearly all the movies everyone else has posted. Especially the Child's Play franchise. I think my mum just did a good job of explaining the things weren't real. Except angry mermaid dads.

Wow, is that Neon Genesis?  I haven't watched that in a long time, but I do recall quite the disturbing ending, especially in the original remake.

Original Poltergeist

It is almost criminal to speak aloud in a theater during the film. That said, I recall standing from my seat and all but yelling, "Get the kids out of the house!"; as I was so wrapped up in the moment. And nobody around me appeared to notice or care; seemed to be thinking the very same thing!

Great movie! And the sequel may have ruined tequila for many for life!

Honestly, I've seen a lot of stuff in my life, but there are very, very few things that ****ed up my mind like End of Evangelion. Seriously, I'd say this **** traumatized me, if anything ever did...

Okay, I removed the pictures again - they scared me way too much... Posted Image

The evil that men do. I had a babysitter who would tell my mother he was going to take us to Disney movies and he would take us to Charles Bronson and Arnold Schwarzenegger movies instead.

The worm scene is fantastic. But used to love the original when I was a kid then I re-watched it a few months ago and it just doesn't work anymore. There's lots of reason why, but one of the main is the idiotic final act where they put the kids back in the room it all happened, no-one traumatised and that the clown should have been packed away or thrown away since it was in room when all the activity was happening.

Nightmare on elm street when I was a kid was my favorite terror movies and scared me a lot.

Also poltergeist.

And another movie I can't remember the name, let's see if you can help me.

It's about a family who live in a house, inside the house they find a doll house that is a replica of the original house, and all the things you do to the doll house happens as well to the normal house.

do you know what movie is?

Sounds like The Dollhouse Murders but could also be Amityville:Dollhouse, though think from your description the first one probably.

One of the most suspenseful movies I have seen, and a personal favorite is Wait Until Dark w/ Audrey Hepburn. She portrays a newly blinded woman having to battle a group of dangerous conmen, led in a stunning performance by Alan Arkin. Brilliant and memorable!

Hellraiser and Evil Dead. I had heard people talk about these movies (Evil Dead was still banned at that point, so owning a copy was a pretty big deal). I snuck both movies with me when I was staying at my grandmother's for a weekend. I slept in my father's old room, which had a working TV and watched both movies in the room when my grandmother was asleep. I was crying and scared and didn't sleep for weeks. My parents and granny never knew.
Edit: I was 8 when this happened.

Also, Judge Doom in Who Framed Roger Rabbit still creeps me out today.

None! I laughed at all horror movies when I was little. Whenever I was sad my parents turned on the TV and put a horror movie on, that instantly made me feel better, they started doing that when I reached the age of 5. Best thing to do for kids so they never get scared of horror movies! ;-)

Forgot about Audrey Rose, saw it on TV when I was a kid and it freaked me out. It has some really great performances by the cast asnd the direction is superb - though not surprising as Robert Wise also directed The Haunting (and Star Trek 1, Day the Earth stood still and West side story & Sound of music which still shocks me)

Moomins, the Groke aka Mörkö.

That thing was the bane of my early childhood.

This.... A hundred times this. That thing terrified me every single time it appeared. Then there was that ghost ship episode....
