If there is a brothel, I hope there is an option to pay for your companions to have some companionship, complete with hilarious acceptance/refusal dialogue depending on the character, and a bump in either friendship or rivalry ratings.

Oh right so the world is falling around you, and you're pc just wants a bit of hankey pankey with a dwarf? Personally I never used the Brothels, I don't mind visiting them if they have quests but they don't really add much

Um hello!!!!! Like Claudia Auditore being the madam in Rome and then joining the Brotherhood. Some of the best spies are prostitutes Think Mata Hari! I mean if there are going for intrigue and information they need a brothel in this game. There was also another thread similar to this a while ago, my suggestion was better furniture,decor, and clothes like...the brothel in Man with the Iron fists. I was appalled at the way some of the men and women dressed like in the rose and pearl. Jethan (granted it was his rest day) looked like he just came from fist fighting in Darktown!

Actually that would be realistic human behavior.

To prove my point, just look at any major war in human history and what the soldiers and sailors involved in those conflicts often got up to in their free time.

I don't care whether they include one or not but if they do, it should be like everything Orlesian: over the top in terms of Rococco styling, gilt (no pun intended), masks, crystal chandeliers and cut-glass vases, etc.

I would be lying if I sad I wouldn't miss the brothels if they weren't in Dragon Age Inquisition, but I wouldn't care that much. There will probably be one at least. Hopefully it will be more important to the story than in DAO and at least just as much as DA2;

yeah, i can (hell, i could imagine even better ones in Tevinter (as that is modelled after the Roman Empire and they had exquisit brothels with erotic designs (mosaics and drawings on the walls) and hot tubs etc.)) with veils and heavy brocade (and other fabrics) curtains and pillows with embroidery (just imagine what a sultans harem looks like and add drinks, music and different sized and equipped rooms for the guests to go to and a bar of course (and a lot of back-room deals starting with poisoning people to drugging them to extract information and even killing them outright (knive in the back, when no one is looking), selling and buying information, brokering slave-deals even (if your character is a real ass!) etc.)...

ah, all that delightfull intrigue - if they do it right (and make it really big and add many patrons, serving girls etc.) then this would and could be one of the most important locations in the game (i would prefer if all major cities had one, because that was usual back then in RL and a lot of things went down in those brothels, too (some were even exclusive clubs where only people of a certain acclaim could become members and offered other entertainments besides sex (from gambling of all varieties to sports, fine foods etc.))

sorry, i would not want that cut (it adds to immersion IMHO) either way

maybe you can also contract diseases that will have poison like affects that you also contactr to your LI and she/he will hate you and than you have quests when you have to search for herbs to heal it

Sleeping with prostitutes is not the point, the point is that your character sleeps with prostitutes (or doesn't) and hangs out in a brother (or begrudgingly has to go to the brothel for a quest).

With no brothel how do we establish this?

Brothels are pretty much an running feature in medieval stories (so much I was surprised Skyrim had none). But then again, it won't matter much, since hiring it's services costs quite a bit of money and it's barely worth it.

I appreciate the fact that brothels are ubiquitous in mature western rpgs, and they can add variety to acquiring or completing quest and can successfully be played for laughs (the pearl's 'surprise me' option). However, they also fail at anything approaching titillation, and if you really want to roleplay a character who would visit brothels you can do that without actually going to a brothel in game. The fact is contrary to what I've seen in hollywood films and games and such, IRL brothels are sad, sad places usually filled with exploited underage girls and you are a bad person if you visit one, so I for one won't miss it if they don't include one in the next DA game.

I enjoyed hearing the prostitutes shooting the sht in the Blooming Rose, but it was no different than the banter between the pub goers in the Hanged Man. Well, except for the lack of clothing.
Meh. I just want to see Jethann again, really, but his existance shouldn't be dependent upon the inclusion of a brothel.

So you have been to lots of brothels then? I think if there were loads these establishments forcing underaged girls to have sex with men for money then people would be a little more worried about the whole thing. 

brothels always seemed to me like a much safer optionfor women than like having a pimp or something because that is where you are going to get all this misery. 

not that I am saying that all brothels are wonderful happy places I have never been in one after all but i do know about a few and I have never heard about anhything like that going on.
