I suppose in places like the Netherlands or Vegas it would be safer than streetwalking, but to say that they don't have pimps is entirely inaccurate. If you're working in a brothel, you have a boss (more or less fulfilling the role of pimp) who takes a large cut of your earnings (100% if your a slave), and depending on how girls come to work in the brothel, they will be punished, beaten, threatened etc. for any perceived wrong doings. 

Sorry I didn't mean to be such a windbag about this, and honestly, contrary to everything I just said, I'm actually not opposed to the presence of brothels in DAI, goes with the whole M-rated content thing, I'm just won't miss them if they're not included. I really just wanted to point out that RL brothels are nothing like what you'd see in game (because I feel strongly about it IRL, obviously). And I also find it kind of odd that people get so testy about issues like rape and homosexuality, but brothels? HILARIOUS FUN! I say hilarious in this case because their portrayal in the DA games certainly can't be described as sexy or titillating just... goofy.

Well India isn't exactly a brilliant example it is very different to the Western World. not that I am saying that this stuff doesn't go on here I am sure it does but I just don't see it as a big problem here. 

As for sex trafficing and sex slavery well again I am not seeing any evidence of that being a massive problem in western countries and that is because prostitutes are usually easily obtained or even legal in western countires. 

I'm not saying real life brothels are wonderful fun happy places but I don't se a parrelel between brothels in india and brothels here. 

I don't really care about prostitutes in DA either, what annoys me is the censorship people  trying to get stuff like than banned because it morraly offends them. 

Also what? The rape and homosexuality debates are based on real issues going on right now. Rape of course is a terrible awful thing and should never be in any way compared to prostitution unless sex traficking or something is involved I guess but that's not really prostitution thats slavery.

And the homosexual thing is just Bioware has decided to give equal options to gay people in games and that annoys some people for mostly silly reasons

So yeah I can totally see why those debates are seen as a bigger deal.

I'd be lying if I said I never used the brothels in either game, but I wouldn't object to their removal. Not just because they're morally questionable for the reasons laid out by Joy Sauce, but I think we can do better than featuring yet another brothel with the same old "Bad Boy/Girl Special" that turns out to be weird. That joke is dangerously close to wearing thin. What about a playhouse, a gambling den, a fighting pit or even a bloody circus?

You know, you have a point.  the gambling den and circus are particularly appealing.  I can see Orlesians decked out in finery in an old-school French Riviera style casino exerting their social dominance or trying to appear jaded while observing acrobats and "wild" animal acts.

I just want more content and sidequests in a brothel or any inn or tavern really. Nothing much happens in taverns in DA games, the only person you can talk to is the bartender, there's a couple of people standing around and maybe it's the setting for a minor sidequest and that's it.

I want to step in a tavern and talk to lots of NPCs that give you quests, I want quests about the tavern, I want to meet companions there, I want to have secret meetings with shady characters ect.
I want it to be a place you always have a reason to go back to and find new quests and characters.

Brothels and taverns should be bustling with things to do and not just have an innkeeper and a couple of people standing around.

My only suggestion is not to make it like Dragon Age 2. The only options in the blooming rose were alien-looking ugly skinny elves which made me sick. My Hawke had to masturbate until he got Isabela in bed. Give us some good looking sexy girls Bioware.
