I'm going with the Quarian Flotilla or the Turian Hierarchy instead.

The quarians are an airlock away from certain death and the Turians are no better than the Alliance

The only fault of the Alliance you've tried to establish is that they didn't find a magical solution to the Reapers.

That's silly.

Gosh, I just doing this over and over again. The Alliance are a 'bunch of idiots' for not building 50 bajillion dreadnoughts because Shepard says so? Is that about right?

I do think its funny that the Turians manage to hold Palaven for the entire war... because they fight harder?

Pretty sure that capital Reaper won't care about your heroism while he vaporizes you.

How about preparing for the Reapers at all?

They denied the Reaper threat and even blamed Cerberus for the Collector attacks.. Competence thy name is not Hackett

The Alliance doesn't have the CB. And even if a miracle solution from the CB isn't a DEM, it's still a miracle solution. It's still mediocre writing at best.

You at last understand ME.

Cerberus could cut a deal with the Alliance.  They will work with them in exchange for..... *insert Cerberus arc of your choosing*

I don't think they would work with cerberus for the simple fact of not trusting them and a betrayal would more than likely happen at some point. Which is why it would be hard to set up any alliance with them. I as well would think cerberus would be up to something or have their own agenda in plan. Also I can see plenty of disagreements that lead to friction and eventually a war between the 2.

When the end of civilization is looming a deal with devil is understandable

I guess, but what could cerberus offer them that the alliance doesn't already have. On the other hand cerberus could use the alliance for a lot which is why I can't see it happening.

Cerberus had a lot to offer that the alliance didn't have in ME2. Then the alliance came in and got rid of all my good stuff for crap that was built by the lowest bidder. I'll take my state of the art tech lab and actual armory that is secured instead of the war room which could have easily been made from my existing conference room.

Post-ME3, the Normandy is going back to the Cerberus standard.

The Turians are at least stronger, the Quarians at least acknowledged the threat of the Reapers.

Hackett is the one that sent Liara to Mars. That's sort of preparing.

The Turians still don't do anything.  And the quarians can't help until Rannoc is dealt with.  Lots of help<_<

If Cerberus wasn't indoctrinated, why would I have to worry about a betrayal? I'd be more worried about some alliance goon getting overzealous with his "we can't do that, it's inhumane/evil!"

It's not an ulterior agenda if I'm working towards it.

Their goals have been viewed as to extreme which would make some friction occur. Eventually either a betrayal would happen or them not lasting very long to get anything accomplished. I can't see the illusive man backing off or taking orders from anyone, especially with how far he is willing to go.

Yes, they denied the Reaper threat. Because really, the only evidence they have is that a big ship attacked the Citadel. That's really all there is. And spending a colossal amount of resources based on that would be incredibly stupid. it would also be very poor writing.

Colossal?  They send Shepard on a non-official mission and all of a sudden they are convinced.

There are very clear signs of the Alliance making significant preperations throughout ME 2, particularly if you read the Cerberus Daily News. That's nowhere remotely close to 'nothing.' It's just not the magic button you seem to be looking for.

How about?

- preparing troops to fight Reaper ground forces
- increase military presence on colonies
- prepare means of evacuation for civilians
- stabilizing supply lines

The list goes on.

Obviously, we're not going to have entire missions focused on 'stabilizing supply lines.' Because that's boring.

I'm more  towards what they  had to offer me3 wise. Cerberus was needed in me2 since the alliance wouldn't do anything. I still don't see how either sides would have worked together.

I know, that's why I want him in charge over Anderson or Hackett. TIM will doubtless be... unwilling to take orders, but my Shepard is willing to work with him on his agenda to a level where Shepard has TIM do certain actions while Shepard gets the resources.

IMO, the alliance's job at this point would be to distract the Reapers. Not mindlessly throw themselves at them but to make sure the Reapers are occupied.

How about a link to relevant articles?

And those are more likely build ups for the inevitable batarian/alliance war, or just simple military preparations

Eh, I don't see the possibility of war being too big of a deterrent here. They wouldn't risk a petty squabble during a fight for survival.

Edit: Damnit Steelcan:ph34r:

It would be more over the history they would have to get over. Having the illusive man take orders when he will go to the most extreme to accomplish his goals. I just don't see it happening.

 Earth was caught completely off-guard. They could at least have fought like Illium, by destroying Reaper troop transporters and turning the cities into urban warzones.
