Unfortunately over half the players blew the collector base to smithereens.

It would have been better if the final choice of ME2 was to give the base to the Council (Paragon), Alliance (Neutral), or Cerberus (Renegade).

I blew the base and I'm proud of it. I could've won the war against the Reapers with only the Quarian and Turian fleets, thanks to multiplayer assets. In all seriousness, the choice in ME2 was fine, the retcon in ME3 wasn't.

Well they did save Shepy, Tali and Garrus in ME2. I'm pretty damn grateful for that. And besides, TIM is one of my favourite characters in the series(Martin Sheen ftw!).

You blew the base up, but Cerberus magically finds the nearly completely intact Reaper and displays it at their base.

Yeah, barely a retcon.

For example, had the Crucible been a superweapon that this very cycle designed after studying the remains of the Human Reaper and learning how relays like the Omega-4 relay work and can be manipulated from intel gathered from the Collector Base, then people would be complaining a lot less. We'd still have the superweapon that avoids cheapening the Reapers, but we would win the war on our own merits.

I'll admit, that sounds better than what we've got but you'd still be making a giant microphone to kill all the Reapers.

Well, we could start by giving the Crucible a different design. :P

But I was only suggesting what an alternative to the magic superweapon could have been on a conceptual level.

Some people here could've won the war without any fleets if you count the multiplayer assets.

It's not a retcon.

Fallout: New Vegas. Shilled often on the BSN as a prime example of a 'real' RPG.

You know what the effects are of killing the leader of the enemy empire, all of his commanders, and wiping out his entire camp in the final battle when you fight said empire?

Absolutely nothing.

It's not a retcon.

I wish cerberus could use their deus ex machina powers on something more than just reviving commander shepard once and getting a hugh army in a short amount of time. You know, like using their "we got miracle stuff" powers to fight the reapers.

The biggest choice of ME2 has no effect whatsoever(10 points in war assets maybe), I call that a retcon.

Don't bring up Fallout NV, that game was **** compared to Fallout 3.

What does that have anything to do with the collector base?

I can see cerberus finding bits and pieces of derbris, maybe even a good 60% of the base since a nuclear bomb doesn't do much immediate damage as much as it does radiation damage lethal to life, but finding the reaper corpse was a bit of a strech, even if I can handwave it with the rule of cool.

Surely that's not too much of a strech to admit>?

Well, they *did* fight the Reapers. Ineffectively given the circumstances, but they did fight the Reapers in their own way, trying to overcome them and control them.

I wish they hadn't been indoctrinated. They'd have by far been my most useful allies.

Perspective and opinion.

Fallout 3 was alright, and it doesn't deserve all the crap it gets, but NV was pretty much a better game in every aspect.

Maybe it's because we never see cerberus actually fight the reapers, but I have a hard time beliving they ever actually engaged the reapers and didn't just take insurgant like shots at the alliance whenever possible.

EDIT: If they hadn't gotten indoctrinated, and if we had the option of killing super leng from the novesl, than yeah they may have made good allies just as the gangs did. But I definatly wouldn't trust them at all, and definatly not enough to cover my back ever.

Demonstrates that such things are commonplace in video games.

Well they did. That's what happens when they're under Reaper control.
