The big ship that attacked the Citadel that clearly isn't of Geth origins. In fact, I thought everyone knew it wasn't of Geth origins at the end of the first game. Seemed like everyone just panicked at the idea and hit a massive state of denial.

Why did they renege on their acknowledgement?

Because they never acknowledged it in the first place. They just weren't going to tell Shepard s/he was deluded after saving the Citadel.

David, actually it is in the Citadel Archives. Sovereign is a Reaper, not Geth. The existence of the Reapers is Classified. The reason that they shined on Shepard in ME2 was that Shepard was associated with Cerberus, and had two people in the room with him/her who didn't have clearance to hear the correct information and most likely were Cerberus personnel (Miranda and Jacob). The Council and Spectres knew of the existence of the Reapers.

That first part was in the Citadel DLC. The last part was just common sense.

Quite honestly a full preparation over a period of three years given the number of Reapers the way they fight and how they fight wouldn't have been bad writing. It would have required more writing. A lot more as in a trilogy more.

Let's assume that the colossal bad luck didn't occur and the VI on Ilos remained active for the Council. Let's assume that Ashley/Kaidan did turn that recording of Sovereign's conversation with Shepard over to the Council instead of sitting on it. Let's assume that Shepard had a brain and gave Joker a second order to get to his escape pod, and went got to the escape pod with Liara instead of going to get Joker. Joker gets a Darwin Award. The Captain doesn't go down with the ship -- that's such romantic BS. Joker had disobeyed two orders from superior officers to abandon ship. Then Shepard doesn't work for Cerberus.

I think even a full preparation would have only slowed down the reapers. The war would have lasted a lot longer. The writers wanted the war done in one game. Full preparation would have forced it to go probably out for three games. And we may have found a way to win during that time. I think the team just wanted to move on so they did it this way.

Modern Warfare 1 and 2. Although I played through Black Ops 2 when my roommate rented it.

It totally was crap compared to Fallout 3. Fallout 3 was bloody outstanding.

Perspective and opinion.

Fallout 3 was alright, and it doesn't deserve all the crap it gets, but NV was pretty much a better game in every aspect.

FO3 has: better music, much better factions, better areas, better enemies, better DLC, better companions, better characters, better quests and a much, much better story

FO: NV has: better map, better weapons, more diverse enemies and locations, better choices and a better companion system

Fallout 3 has way better locations. It looks way better. It captures the atmosphere of nuclear war and the sheer poverty of the wasteland so much better.

New Vegas tried to do three things. The glitz and glam of Vegas, the serenity and quiet power of the desert, and the radioactive wasteland. And it just didn't manage to do any of them. The casinos feel like retirement homes.

No, not the Quarians!! :o

Caesars Legion was perhaps the worst antagonist I've ever seen in a video game. Mr House was plain ridiculous. The Enclave was at least a tough, fun enemy.

Oh hush Davey you think Mr. House and the NCR have no reason to be against each other so your opinion doesn't matter.

They really don't. If they worked together, the two of them could get literally everything they want. NCR gets the dam, the land, and Vegas as a resort. House gets his economic powerhouse and security and control of his city. Caesar gets wiped off the map by the securitrons. Everybody wins. The reasons why they don't cooperate are flimsy at best. And it's all done through telling instead of showing.

Really, that's a rather significant weakness of Vegas as a whole. Nobody does anything. Everybody just sits on their thrones waiting for you to walk around the wasteland and visit them. Nothing actually happens.

I did one playthrough with each of the four options, actually.

But yeah, I found Legion and Yes-Man to be a lot more fun than House or NCR.

There are two kinds of people I don't trust in this world.

Burly dudes who wear skirts, and people who think it's antiquity.

The legion just combined those two things into 1 faction, I kill them on principle and as a mercy for anyone near them when theres a gust of wind.

Does anyone else think that TIM and Mr. House are very similar characters? And the fact that both want to control a huge robot army doesn`t make things better.

why does every thread devolve into a fallout 3 and fallout new vegas debate?

p.s. fallout new vegas was an astounding achievement for a video game, even more so when it was revealed that it only had 18 months development time.

It helps that they put no work into upgrading the graphics and mechanic and thus made a game that looks worse than the one released two years before it.
