This has been bugging me for a while now. I keep seeing tons of people post about how if you were mean to the guy, his ME2 appearance is probably going to be him getting revenge on you in some way. But am I going crazy, or wasn't it that if you told him where he could shove his fanboyism, later on you heard a news report in a lift about him going nuts on some C-Sec guys and getting killed?
Or was that all just a crazy fever dream?
If you're a jerk to Conrad Verner, doesn't he die in a hailstorm of bullets?

For me, I got the news announcement about he was killed by turians.
Then he was waiting for me the next time I was on the Citadel. He's a really dedicated fan.

You can use your intimidate skill to make him stop his pestering and quest to become a spectre. If you do this he doesn't die.

You're probably just crazy.
But that doesn't mean you're not right!

I don't think he dies in a hail of bullets.
But depending on your choices he can die.
I think it is much more likely that they stabbed or beat him to death.

Ah, so there is an alternative. I don't remember there being an intimidate option though... Maybe if I get around to another Renegade playthrough, I'll look for that option.

If you blow him off in the first meeting, he dies
If you intimidate him at the last meeting, he doesn't

I think you have to put up with him the first couple of times you see him, the Persuades don't come up until your last possible interaction. I think.FFLB wrote...

I actually regret that Conrad Verner died in my main playthrough.
Unfortunately my (mostly) paragon shepherd just wouldn't tolerate that sort of behaviour so I told him where to go. Heard the news report later in the game that he had been killed. Oops.

Conrad Verner is really poorly modelled isnt he? I don't remember what happened to him in my game but I remember thinking the artist must have been Stevie Wonder!

It sounds like you shut him down. If you don't shut him down, he keeps talking to you every time you meet him on the Citadel in the same place and eventually wants to join you as a Spectre.
You can use two different ways to convince him not to - intimidate and charm. If you intimidate him, you grab him and point a gun in his face to make a point. I always assumed that's what the jerk option is.
But it isn't really something that strikes me as, "bring Verner back for revenge," sort of deal. If he did that he'd just die, I'm afraid.

IF you intimidate to stop his wild fantasies i think he survives. Well i hope so since would be cool if he turns into some serial killer on how i treated him and you have to track him down to kill. I can dream can't i.

Have a look at:
I think if you use Charm/Intimidate he survived (liking you or not).
but some of the mean "normal"(no paragon/renegade required) conversation options lead to his death.

I had high charm and so I resoned with him to go back to his family.
Amazing what charm does in this game. I must've talked down 5-6 potentially lethal encounters. He'll I even got Saren to pop his top.

Yeah, I was suspicious of him at first too. Especially after he took a picture of Shepard posing with a gun. I thought he was going to use it to fabricate some sort of story against Shepard... but then it turned out that he was just a, mostly, harmless fan.
