. One geth unitwithout upgrades is not intelligent. One human is intelligent by itself. The two are not comparable.

All I'm saying is that you shouldn't wipe out whole species when you don't have to.

It was either them or the quarians.  I didn't do it for laughs.

You clearly screwed up at some point.

I don't think so.  I got a nice big paycheck and Cerberus got a fancy new geth to research.  Win-win.

You're not good at prioritizing, it seems.

Giving humanity another weapon to fight the Reapers is a priority.  Talking with a single geth is not.

Ironic that you'd only get the first by doing the second.

Indicative of nothing but BioWare's paragon bias.  I still believe that it was the right decision.

That's because there's a strong Paragon bias in the series. IRL, I'd sell the geth.

Sadly, I have no response to this that could be considered polite.

Oh, come on. It's a blatantly stupid option and voluntarily waiving a heretofore unimagined opportunity.

I don't think it's fair to expect Shepard to prioritize based on future events. He's got no way of knowing that sending Legion for study = no peace at Rannoch.

And the player, of course, can metagame whatever he pleases.

Turning down a priceless diplomatic first contact opportunity for cash is idiocy, plain and simple.

They have human rights, don't they? Or if they don't, then why would asari or turians have those rights?

Or maybe they don't either?

Implying that cash is the only motivation.  Its a technological marvel that could have massive effects on humanity's own technological advancement.

It's not quite idiocy if he thinks that the geth are completely opposed to interaction with organics. Just a very bad premise.

Turians and Asari have similar limitations as humans.  Geth do not.  Its not a human/geth split as much an organic/synthetic split

How? It's not like Cerberus couldn't build its own intact geth with geth parts if it tried, as demonstrated quite well in Tali's loyalty mission.

Assuming that it's universal specieswide is pretty much idiocy.

So synthetics don't have rights because reasons.

OK. What reasons? What's the actual argument?

I never said they don't deserve rights, I said that giving them the same rights as a human is wrong.

If it's hardware, you can get that by analyzing the parts. If it's information, you can get that off of a living geth.

If I shoot my computer I can't analyze what its like when running.

The geth have so far been unwilling to talk with organics.

It doesn't have a soul. It's no more alive than the enemy AI in the game. AI can only ever simulate life.

As one who denies the existence of such a thing, that kind of makes the question of whether or not a synthetic possesses one somewhat irrelevant for some.

And while I'm at it, we're alone in the universe and we;re not leaving the solar system.

No one on earth knows this for certain.

And this one saved your life. Additionally, the geth aren't too hard to put back together.
